I remember back during the run up to the IWR, there were actually a fair number of hawks on these boards championing the position that we should go into Iraq. As it became apparent that the war was a huge mistake, these posters either left DU, realized and apologized for their mistake, or simply faded into the background for awhile, hoping that others wouldn't call them on their position.
Now that it has become apparent that this war won't be ended by the time Bush leaves, were left with an interesting conundrum. Say Hillary gets the White House, or Edwards, or Obama, and they continue the war, flying in the face of public opinion and going against the wishes of the people. Will their supporters suddenly turn out to be hawks? Will criticism of the war bring scathing rebutals from the partisans?
I find this especially relevent in light of Hillary's further enabling of another illegal, immoral war, this time in Iran. <

It will be interesting to watch how this unfolds.
