Does Hillary Clinton know when the first day the next President starts in 2009?
In Oakland at a recent event (which some people think was actually an estimated 7,000 not the Clinton Campaign press release numbers of 14,000), Hillary Clinton said this:

"I am so proud that I might have the great honor of being the first woman president in the history of the United States," she said. "I am not running because I am a woman ... (but because ) I am the best qualified person to hit the ground running on Jan. 1, 2009."

Does she know when Inauguration Day is in 2009? It's not on New Years Day. Is she referring to some New Years Day 5K Race in Rampur Maniharan?

Hint: Obama will be sworn into office on January 20, 2009.

This is what you take comfort from? How pathetically desperate.

11. Again... another free pass for what Clinton actually said...
She didn't vote for the war in Iraq and now Iran either, right? Oh, and she didn't vote for the Patriot Act either... yeah, yeah, yeah...

I feel your pain.

9. Lemme guess...
If Obama said that he would be ready to hit the ground running on New Years Day, you wouldn't take issue with that?

I'm just feeding the medicine that most of the Clinton supporters drub on the rest of us ad nauseum.

That would be Al Gore.

6. Well, Al Gore might just endorse Hillary's candidacy..
I doubt he's going to run...and run himself and his family ragged for the presidency.

I think he would be happiest as head of the EPA with extended environmental powers into FEMA and National Security.

12. I get the same impression from following what Al Gore says
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 10:50 AM by Apollo11
Larry King Live - CNN - May 22, 2007

Al Gore on Hillary Clinton:
"She is running a very forceful campaign. She has earned the strong support of her constituents in New York."

Al Gore on Barack Obama:
"He is also running a very strong campaign. I think that he is appealing to a lot of people who like the sense that he's talking about issues in a fresh way. And, you know, he has a lot of support."

Al Gore on John Edwards:
"Running a strong campaign. Put out a lot of very thoughtful policy statements and positions. I think you can see the strength that he's gained from having been around the track last time."

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0705/22/lkl.01.html

A recent interview Al Gore did with a Harvard Alumni magazine:

Will you endorse a candidate in the primary?

GORE: Odds are that I will.

Who?

GORE: I haven’t made that decision yet.

Do you feel some obligation to endorse the wife of your former boss?

GORE: Uh … no. I have friendships with her and with the other candidates, and they’re all on equal footing at this point as far as I’m concerned

http://www.02138mag.com/magazine/article/1485.html

And here's what Al Gore said on CNN just last week:

BLITZER: I know you're studying all the candidates and their positions on this and other issues. Four years ago, you endorsed Howard Dean. What about the prospect of Al Gore endorsing any of the candidates this time around?

GORE: I don't know if I'll make an endorsement or not. I just don't know.

BLITZER: Because the president, you heard him say this week, that he thinks Hillary Clinton is going to get the Democratic nomination, but then lose to the Republican next -- a year from now, November. What do you think about that prediction by President Bush?

GORE: Well, I think it's too early to make predictions, at least too early for me to make predictions about it.

BLITZER: But you're not ready to jump on the Hillary Clinton bandwagon yet?

GORE: I'm not ready to endorse a candidate or to decide whether I will. But I appreciate your interest in it.

29. If you look at what Gore has been saying
He has repeatedly refused to say something positive about Hillary's candidacy.

When specifically asked if he would endorse Hillary - he makes a point of saying that he is just as likely to endorse one of the other candidates, or maybe he will not endorse anyone.

Based on what he said last May - I would say he was leaning Edwards.

Maybe Gore got burned in 2004 - when he made a big show of endorsing Howard Dean?

52. The Left is doing precisely to Hillary what they did to Gore..
They're playing the "ridicule" card. I would think Gore is a huge Trump Card for Hillary.

She's got Wes Clark in her corner. We know he is against the War and he doesn't have a problem supporting Hillary.

I think they're saving Gore for the right time.

I know. We should all just watch an impending disaster and let it slide into a ditch.

If Obama or Edwards had made such a gaffe, I can only imagine the "outrage" from the Clinton Camp. This is just a taste of the medicine we deal with.

Besides, maybe Hillary Clinton thinks Inauguration Day is on New Years Day. She trusted Bush a couple times on going to war, so who knows?

Your candidate does know if he's elected, that his first order of business on 11-05-08 will be to start appointing his transition team? Or will it be news to him that the president-elect does not spend Nov., Dec., and most of Jan., partying hard?

Maybe it is an issue of experience v. inexperience.

43. Exactly...
That statement by Obama was all "the rage" here on DU by the Clinton supporters.

We talked about numbers at rallies yesterday with someone who was at the Oakland event saying that there were no more than 7,000 people there. Now the numbers on Obama's NYC rally is only 10-15K to some estimates.

I know someone who was at the NYC rally and he said it was a sea of people and that there were a lot of people that were turned away at certain points due to overwhelming crowds for security reasons.

As I have responded here, if Obama had made the gaffe on the date, I am certainly sure it would have been a big issue here.

BTW, I hope your grassroots stuff is going well.

I admit this was a B-side post... I also think if Obama had said such a thing, it would have been "an issue" for Clinton supporters to use for fun and folly.

49. Your logic is the same as the Israeli/Palestinian one.
Every time the Palestinians do something that pisses off Israel they retaliate, which then makes the other side feel justified for retaliating, which then makes the other side feel justified in retaliating, which then makes...well, you get the idea.

Not arguing that some Hillary supporters would do it, but if you don't like it when they do that stuff how do you think they feel about you doing it? How many posts has wyldwolf started in just the last week or so that are copycats of attacks on Hillary? I'm sure he feels it's justified in response to those. It's an endless cycle that helps neither of your candidates.
