Does anyone have any thought about the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It appears that Admiral Mullen will take over today as the new CJCS. According to CNN he shares the concerns many Americans have about the toll the war is taking on the troops and America. CNN is pushing the idea that he may push for a drawdown of troops faster than General Petreaus would want. At this point I do not know what to think about Adm. Mullen. It is good to see him talk about concerns over the war, but he was appointed by Bush so I do not know if he is as concerned about the situation as he claims. I do realize that Defense Secretary Gates picked Mullen, but I think Bush still had to approve of him before letting him go to the Senate to be confirmed. Here is the article that was at the CNN website.
