Statement of Senator Russ Feingold on President Bush's veto of SCHIP

Statement of U.S. Senator Russ Feingold
On the President’s Veto of the Children’s Health Insurance Program

October 3, 2007

“By vetoing the Children’s Health Insurance Program reauthorization bill today, the president disregarded the nearly 67,000 Wisconsin families who receive health care through Wisconsin’s successful BadgerCare program. The Children’s Health Insurance Program reauthorization is vital to ensuring that BadgerCare continues. An overwhelming majority of both the American public and Congress supports this legislation and Congress should override the President’s veto as soon as possible.”

3. TALK, TALK, TALK, TALK..........
When is this congress going to do something except talk about it....does talking pacify you, it sure don't me. I want to see those contempt citations served. I want to see rove, meirs and the rest before congress or in jail....I AM TIRED AS HELL OF TALK, I WOULD LIKE SOME ACTION. How about you all...are you going to timidly sit by and listen to talk and not see any action.

Russ has it nailed.

As for Bush, he's not really a kid's best friend. Ask this child what she thinks about Bush's war.

Oh, wait. She's probably dead by now.

6. Yes. Somehow it was okay for DK to vote "no" (according to some here)
But Bush is a cretin for vetoing it.

(Mind you, I agree with the Bush being a cretin part. I don't see how DK skates, though. He damned sure better make clear that he WILL vote to override.)
