Obama receives more money from financial institutions than any other candidate

Obama, for example, has raised $4 million from the financial services industry, more than all other candidates, according to data provided by the Center for Responsive Politics, a research group in Washington that tracks political donations. And among other Democrats, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York senator, and Christopher Dodd, as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, also have deep ties to the industry.

1. You should really read the entire article before posting.

"And among other Democrats, Hillary Rodham Clinton, as a New York senator, and Christopher Dodd, as chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, also have deep ties to the industry."

The article goes on to note that many in this group donate to a number of candidates in both parties to cover their bets.

The source, Center for Responsive Politics, combines donations from PACs and individual donors to come up with its numbers. There is no way to tell , for example, whether donations from the health care industry are coming from nurses, doctors or hospital associations.

For what it's worth, here is the original page: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/select.asp?Ind=B02

I think the list of donations from lobbyists is the more interesting statistic.

2. I did read the entire article -
and pointed out which candidates received the most money from the financial industry - with Obama leading the pack.

Maybe you should read my entire post?
