Thompson fails to excite.
Or maybe Republics are just too dispirited to get excited, period.

I'm starting to believe that the reign of the donkey is upon US. :dem:

1. Thompson's strength is not in exciting people. It's in repelling people.
What a sickening excuse for a public servant Fred Thompson is.

His campaign doesn't exactly seem to be rocketing into orbit either.

3. I honestly do not know how Republics reason, because their mindset is so different
from mine. I do think they are starting to give up though.

7. Agree. 'Reason' itself could be beyond their capacities.
Thompson was supposed to take the field by storm.

Not much of a storm so far, is it?!

10. He thought he could play Reagan without doing anything.
But Raygun was a one trick pony. How he ever got away with his scam I'll never understand. People are gullible I guess.

15. Yes. They seemed drawn to his smooth daddy thing he had going.
And his handlers put him in front of the Statue of Liberty etc so he would always resonate as an image and keep the electorate's mind off the details.

A lot of people -- way too many -- swooned over Reagan. Not at my house, but plenty did elsewhere. I look at Fred Thompson and I just don't see the "magic."

17. Read the whole article--wow. Why is he bothering? I'll bet any money
he wishes he didn't run, by this point. He's just going through the motions, and knows he's disappointing everybody.

19. He's lazy, arrogant and DUMB, with all the panache of a fur-covered plaid dog bed . .
He's rocketed into, what, 3rd or 4th place nationally since his big, BIG announcement?

That dog bed won't hunt.
