Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 10:59 PM by ocelot
Obama is just wasting his time and ours; there's no need for primaries. We are to nominate Hillary by acclamation and get on with it. Resistance is futile; you will be assimilated.

:sarcasm:

3. NO, not the last nerve!
I've discovered the "ignore" feature... at least until after the primaries are over.

Wonderful for the nerves and the blood pressure! :D

GObama!

12. I haven't railed against him
But I stopped donating to him about a month ago.

He is the best VP we could have (brilliant, telegenic....) But his resume is THIN.

He NEEDS to be the new Kennedy, but it's not happening. Ignoring controversial votes.....

....sigh...

15. Over the past month plus I have been seeing a somewhat
inexperienced man who is hedging (non-votes).... Richardson has a WEALTH of experience, He is brilliant, seasoned, and a wonderful choice. Obama is BRILLIANT VP material - I do not think my mind can be changed.... but give it a shot if you will.

18. I agree Richardson has tons of experience, more than Obama.
However, this election means much more than other elections, and we need a candidate that has what it takes to take on the type of challenges this country is facing. The effects of the Bush administration on our Nation have been devastating- our Nation is extremely divided in all aspects (politically, socially and economically), and people have lost the faith in their government. There are so many things to achieve domestically that might not be achieved because of the current divisions between common Americans and between common Americans and their public servants.

Also, our Nation is in danger of losing one of the greatest security challenges of its history because of the failed foreign policy of GWB and because of the conventional Washington thinking that allowed all of this to happen. America is not the respected nation it once was, and we are wasting almost all of our military and economic resources in a war that has made us less safer...

So, what kind of leader do we need? We don't only need someone with the vision to FIX our problems (for instance, someone with better judgement than the dinosaurs in Washington) but someone that can inspire and unite Americans to make that change happen. Someone that can achieve political compromise between the two main parties to move things forward. Someone that is willing to put DIPLOMACY first and talk to the rest to the World. Someone the World can listen to and trust.

I believe with my heart, mind and soul that man is Barack Obama. A special leader for a special moment in our history.

Think about it, and join us: www.barackobama.com

16. I'm tired of ALL the bashing
...the Hillary bashing, the Obama bashing, the Edwards bashing, the Kucinich bashing, the Gore bashing every time somebody posts a hopeful "waiting for Gore" post - sick of all of it. I can't WAIT til this freakin' primary season is over and some less lethal form of sanity returns to this board.

22. If you look closely, you'll there's really not much actual bashing going on
just a lot of people whining about bashing. I know, when there's so much whining, its hard to tell the difference.

23. Question: Why is he saying he can't commit to getting out of Iraq by 2013.
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 02:05 AM by autorank
Is he unaware that the attack on Iraq is a war crime, a preemptive attack against a state that did
not pose an imminent danger to the attacking state, us?

If not, when he becomes aware of that, will he then change his extra five years of a war crime
rhetoric?

The absence of addressing the war crime of ordering and executing this war by this administration and
the willingness of Barack and Hillary and Edwards to extend the war the full term of their supposed
administrations gets on the last nerve of many people, particularly all of those who will die, be
maimed, and traumatized, dispossessed, forcibly relocated...and their families.

To repeat a lie is to tell a lie AND to continue a crime is to commit a crime.

What does Barack have to say about that?

In anticipation of any responses along the lines that this is Barack bashing, I'll just say this:

The commitment of our nation to four more years in Iraq and the concomitant deaths is a highly
legitimate question. It's one that should be asked and answered. There are other Democratic
candidates and possibles who have answered it.

I am mostly undecided, at this point, I have two or three that I am interested in but Honest to Fucking God I swear if the supporters on DU are a sampling of the candidates values, I'm staying home and hitting the Nyquil.
