Edwards wants Blackwater out of Iraq. Does your candidate? |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 12:09 AM by grasswire
I was impressed to hear John Edwards say on MSNBC tonight that Blackwater and other mercenaries have no place in our wars, and that in the very extreme instance when security must be hired, its operatives would be under the command of the Pentagon and subject to military justice.
Thank you John Edwards! That puts me in his camp for right now, at least.
Now I'm waiting for a candidate to pledge to restore the Constitution.

1. I just cannot get over the idea that we have mercenaries. |
|
On top of that they have the protection of the State Department. How low can we go?

9. I can't believe I didn't know how common it is |

But I didn't. I also didn't have a clue that they aren't really accountable to anyone.

2. That's a fine "first step" from Edwards. When will he say OUR ARMY shouldn't be there? |
|
I'm sticking with the candidate who OPPOSED the illegal invasion in the first place. Dennis had spine to vote for what was RIGHT when it was unpopular. Johnny-come-lately he isn't!

4. Do you remember the atmosphere at the time? |
|
These are politicians you are talking about. Dennis is someone we can use now, someone who has been right, but he will not be the Democratic candidate. I would like Dennis, but what happens in the general election? We have to deal with it.

6. The "atmosphere" separated people with PRINCIPLES from pandering vote-whores. I remember it well.nm |

7. Edwards can get support for his initiatives in Congress. Kucinich has proven that he can't. |
|

I really hate saying that, too. But, it's true. I don't know that Kucinich has ever sponsored important legislation that has passed Congress.
