Nobel Peace Prize set for Oct 12th announcement.
As Friday news dumps go, this one might be worth tuning in to hear.

13. Let me try this one. It may not satisfy you, but it will be a sincere effort.
Gore's work regarding global warming particularly is an emphasis on the urgent need for swift and meanginful reform in the environment generally.

The dispute -- the "war" -- is between abstract combatants: human activity versus the earth's natural state, with the former laying seige to the other's long-held fortress.

Gore asks that the assault end and a cooperative negotiation between resource-holder and resource-needer occur. He seeks a treaty, a truce, a "peace."

Thus the nomination.

We both have the exact same chances of winning.
But...if I got the Nobel Peace Prize, why would it be unreasonable to assume he'd get elected President?

11. It may not be unreasonable at all. The field is a happy, twisted,
kaleidoscopic fun house right now.

Gravel looks down but I reserve judgment on how far he gets. Vilsack was smart to get out when he did, but Gravel has some gravitas.
