Poll question: If Paul Wellstone was still alive, who would he endorse for President?

Perhaps it would be best to watch his speech five years ago regarding the vote to go to war first:

2. What an absolutely ridiculous poll.
There's only one man who would have known the TRUE answer to that, and he died in a plane crash nearly 5 years ago.

This poll is barely one step removed from "Which candidate would JESUS endorse?" :eyes:

3. I don't believe he would endorse among this crew.
My wife's boss knew him intimately. (well, they were good friends) ;)

4. Edwards or Obama, assuming he decided to endorse at all

And I'm leaning toward no endorsement.

5. Also on that YouTube page was THIS:
The Senator Wellstone Assassination: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Vbf49kzWFw

On the web a while back, was a video of the complete Wellstone Memorial Ceremony. Very moving each and every time I watched it (non-stop!). I had it as my sig-line for a long time, but it suddenly vanished. Does anyone here know where it can be found?

7. The vast majority of politicians do not endorse a candidate...
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 11:35 AM by robcon
until the nomination is secure or final. They understand that there is usually nothing to be gained from endorsing someone when there is a chance that another Democrat will be the next president, and they see that there is no advantage to making an enemy of that president.

It's mostly the politicians who have nothing to lose (McGovern) or something to gain (perhaps Clark) that endorse a Democrat before the outcome is certain.

I suspect Wellstone understood this.
