In 2006, did Hillary run for the Senate as a supporter of the war
or not? My memeory is that she ignored Tasini, the anti-war candidate and she ignored the war. Was this a case of silence gives consent?

1. well, the voters kinda ignored Tasani, too...
but that won't stop some from taking a wild leap into "silence gives consent" nonsense.

2. So, can you explain why Hilary didn't come out against the war during
that campaign?

By the way, the voters didn't ignore Tasini, they never knew he existed. He had 10-15% support depending on what poll you looked at and Hillary refused to debate him on the issues of the war and health care. Of course, everyone figured she had a lock on the position because of all the money she had received.

3. everyone figured she had a lock on the position
because voters in NY liked her. Her approval ratings were through the ceiling. And Tasani with 10% in a primary? Whew... that sure is a lot.

I don't know what you mean by "against the war". If your definition of that is the same as Tasani's, then I doubt that your position on that is going to be recognized by many as realistic. Maybe that 10% of primary voters... and maybe that's why he didn't get taken seriously.

4. Hillary Has A 81% Approval Rating From NY Democrats
I read the only Democrat with a higher approval rating from his constituents is Ted Kennedy...

5. So her approval ratings were though the ceiling. She had a lock on the position.
Why didn't she take a clear stand against the war? Was it any less a cluster than it is today?

Tasini's position:

"My position is a responsible one: the troops must be brought home now.

http://www.tasinifornewyork.org/iraq/position

If Tasini's position is irresponsible, does that mean that Hilary will not be bringing the troops home?

7. the point is
your version of "clear" and that held by most everybody else, as evidenced by Tasani's poor showing at the polls, is probably not the same.

"If Tasini's position is irresponsible, does that mean that Hilary will not be bringing the troops home?"

This is an absurd question, as surely you must know.

8. It's doubtful that many voters knew that Tasini existed.
Matter of fact, I doubt most New Yorkers could tell who who the Republican candidate was that year.

I'd still like to know how Tasini's position of "bring the troops home now" is irresponsible, then or now.

6. Hillary's repeat performance...
Anyone paying attention knows that Bush is going to attack Iran. And Hillary's recent vote giving him the green light to do so makes her and her supporters complicit in our next major disaster. She doesn't get a second chance on poor judgement. How the hell could anyone vote for her now????

10. Nov 2003 "stay the course"
That is all that needs to be said about Hillary Clinton and the war.
