VP Selection
If your (in your opinion) front-running candidate wins, who do you think they will choose as their VP running mate. (Note: I am asking who you think they will choose, not who you hope they will choose).

Personally, I prefer Obama as my candidate, but feel that the front-runner is Hillary, and she will likely pick a seasoned and centrist-left candidate: Biden.

1. I think Biden is a pretty good veep choice for
anyone who gets the nom. I haven't really connected the dots on who I'd like to see if Hillary is the nominee. Lots of excellent choices out there. I'm still in "watch and evaluate" mode.

If John Edwards wins, and I think he will, he'll go with Gov. Sebelius of Kansas.

I think if Sen. Clinton wins the nom, she'll choose Evan Bayh, or General Clark.

If Joe Biden wins, I think he chooses Barack Obama or Barbara Boxer.

If Barack Obama wins, he chooses General Clark or Bill Bradley.

If Bill Richardson wins, he chooses Chris Dodd.

If Dennis Kucinich wins, he picks Julian Bond.

If Chris Dodd wins, it'll be Bill Nelson.

If Al Gore runs and wins, Russ Feingold.

If Gary Hart runs and wins, Bill Richardson -- a west-of-the-Mississippi ticket.

If Robert F. Kennedy wins, I think he'll choose Tom Harkin.

8. If Giuliani is the Pukes' nominee, we'll need a sturdy New Jersey vote, since
Rudy's popular in NJ -- it's his best state.

I think a Democratic ticket with Bill Bradley as veep could whomp Rudy in Jersey,

4. I doubt he will come from the current crop of candidates
More than likely a centrist governor from a pivotal state.

11. I was thinking the same thing
My choice for nominee is Biden and I think it is possible he would pick a woman or a minority candidate, but not sure who that would be.

I think Obama would choose someone who is perceived as having "experience." I don't think it will be Hillary or RIchardson since I highly doubt there will be no white males on the ticket (just my hunch, not something I am rooting for) in 08. It won't be Clark, or Edwards since they don't scream "experience" to most voters, imo.

Hillary will probably pick someone who is perceived as being "tough." I could see Clark or Webb for that.

Edwards would probably lean towards the "experience" thing as well. Maybe Richardson.

Edit to add Sebelius as a possible VP for Edwards. She brings experience, high approval ratings and the excitement of a woman on the ticket. Schweitzer could be a good VP choice for someone. Not big on "experience" but he brings high approval ratings and earthy appeal.

9. And if you think a VP might be chosen on their ability to
flip swing state blue, you can look at the map here:
http://electoral-vote.com/

VPs usually get @ a 5% boost in their homestate, so a popular VP from FL, OH or VA would be big. I could see Warner or Webb from VA getting extra VP attention for this.
