A Certain Sort Of Desperation Is Setting In For Me!!!
I dunno, I just dunno! Wake up this AM to watch Washington Journal and what do I hear??

Democrats ready to "cave" on NSA Program... AGAIN!! This is so creepy, must have something to do with Halloween I suppose!

We've already had "our" candidate picked out for, DESPITE some very disturbing stands she's taken regarding Iran and several other issues. Not just "little" issue like haircuts, or being too Liberal, not being Black enough or not even really being electable because the "powers that be" say so!

Will someone tell me WHY I should keep hitting my head against this wall?? It's almost 8:30 AM and my mood is as dark as it was last night at 10:00 PM! I Know the House should be able to stand up against This Idiot Decider even if the Senate can't... so why don't they at least SYMBOLICALLY try SOMETHING??

This really really SUCKS!!
:banghead:

1. Amen! I'm sick of it.
I just posted on another thread this very same theme. I'm confused about what's happened to the Democratic Party and why they cannot find their backbone. I realize after being out of power for 13 years, you might forget where it is, but if they don't find it soon, we're lost as a nation (not just talkin' party) and the world is lost to endless war and hardships for the less wealthy and less ruthless just have to sit back and watch. I feel like one of those Myanmar monks waiting for the hatchet to fall on my head.

6. Sorry... We Must Have Crossed Paths... Didn't See Your Thread Until
now. I understand what you're saying about waiting for the hatchet to fall. I keep hearing from MSM are like people running around like Chicken Little saying "the sky is falling, the sky is falling!"

What is it going to take for them to realize that the SKY just MAY ACTUALLY be falling?? I even get disturbed going to the grocery store these days! Cheapest gallon of milk I can find is about $3.98! I don't mind having to pitch in a little more for DEMOCRACY, but I'm not seeing much feed-back these days!

One day it's spinach or lettuce, then it's lead, now it's back to EBOLA in meat! I'm no Vegan but the "meat" thing doesn't bother ME much, I eat very very little of it, but my family does like a hamburger from time to time! Spinach and lettuce does bother me though. Guess my Nature Bars are next!

And next year we will HAVE to have DIGITAL TV's! I don't worry about taking a trip to another country where they really don't like us, don't have the moola to spend anyway, but you get my point!

9. I've got to clarify for you that it isn't ebola but
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 09:02 AM by Andy Canuck
Ecoli. Both are nasty, but ebola is a viral hemorageic fever so far found only in africa. Ecoli is a bacteria found in the intestines of cows and other animals.

11. Yes, Yes, My Bad!! I DO Know The Difference... Must Be THAT Black Mood
that got in the way! Actually I've been around the "medical" field for most of my life, and my daughter and her husband are BOTH critical care nurses, and my father was a Medic in the Army!!

But thanks for pointing this out to me! I feel a bit silly, but your correction is noted and appreciated!

3. Those are pretty much the same points that have me up against the
same wall.
My suggestion is to hide under the wall. Do something today that really absorbs you, besides taking on all the nation's troubles, that is.
There really are some things you just can't do anything about--at least for today.

4. Well, I Can ALWAYS Wash The Windows! We've Had So Very
little rain and I HAD hoped for some to wash the worst off... guess it IS diversion! But it's still SO hot here in my corner of Florida! Rain all around, but even THAT isn't going my way!

But, it still doesn't make this "reality" go away! I've called, written, signed petitions, marched, read books, talked to convince others and done most all of it, AND STILL... NOTHING MUCH!

5. The black mood.....darkness is all over DU...it infects everything...
time to find one small thing to do in personal life that will give sense of accomplishment. Clean my refrigerator! At least there, I can get rid of the fuzz mold and clean out the drips and drabs and crumbs and outdated....and start afresh. It's about the only thing I can think of... We are on water restrictions so gardening or washing car is out.

8. Be careful!
I was cleaning the fridge the other day and came across some of my wife's pancake dough--OLD pancake dough.
I microwaved it and put it out back for the critters to play with and I thirk it growled at the cats!

7. Boy! Do I sure understand about rain!
We've had exactly one decent rain since May. My garden started off like gangbusters, though late due to an unusually wet spring. We got some good out of it but it's pretty burned up, now.
Next year, it's going to be raised beds with individual fences to keep the deer and rabbits out of it.

Nothing will make this reality go away. When I was quite a bit younger, I found that I could actually drink my troubles away, to a degree. If I went and really burned my brain, by the time I got to feeling better and able to address my troubles again I would realize I hadn't thought about them for a while--too miserable!--so maybe they weren't so all-fired important, after all.

I do know that if you stay buried in this stinking mess too deeply for to long, it'll have you talking to yourself and using a lot sterner language than you are used to. It can help to take a break.
Off the tv, off the radio, off the computer and take a loooong bath!

10. Glad YOU Got Some In Spring!! The Last Really Good Rain I Recall
where I'm living was on Christmas day last year!! And I live in what is supposed to be TROPICAL FLORIDA!! Glad we have a "well" to water our lawn... even many Pest Control Companies won't even spray for chinch bugs anymore... they just won't go away and most people can't afford to have them come out every two weeks.

But back to the REALITY... I too could drink and forget when I was younger, now 3 beers will do it!! As a Boomer, whacky week helped too, but I heard earlier this year that The Idiot thinks MJ is one of our most destructive drugs!!

Gee, my son got involved with METH and it's an epidemic around here, but NO... it's MJ!! And unless you can afford about 30 grand to get Rehab, you're shit out of luck! Thankfully, and I don't know HOW this came about, he landed a job working for non other than Martina Navratilova and got "saved!" If not for her, I'm sure he would have gone right back to his old neighborhood and addicted friend. Guess I did have some "good luck" in my life after all! But I see far too many who are really suffering!

Yes, I NEED to wash my windows! And I DO have to water my plants too! One of my hobbies is growing plants from cuttings and then having a Garage Sale to pick up some money to pay for that milk!
