Just received this from B Boxer cancelling tomorrows Gore event...is he on his way to receive the
nobel peace prize? I think so....

"I just got a call from Vice President Al Gore. He told me that he needs to travel abroad tomorrow for an exciting and urgent mission that could result in a major breakthrough in the fight against global warming.

Unfortunately, this means that we must postpone our Thursday, October 11th event with him until Friday, November 9th. But he wanted me to tell you that he can't wait to talk to us about his trip when he comes back to San Francisco in three weeks.

While I am really disappointed that we won't see Al Gore until next month, I am thrilled that he is continuing to provide critical leadership to address one of the most pressing issues of our time. You should know that only the most urgent global warming mission has called him out of the country.

I apologize for any last-minute inconvenience that rescheduling our event may cause you, but I look forward to seeing you on November 9th so we can all hear first-hand about Al Gore's latest exciting initiatives.

Thank you so much for your continued friendship and support. See you in San Francisco next month!

Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator

P.S. We will be back in touch in the coming days with more details about the rescheduled event with Al Gore on November 9th. But if you already know now that you won't be able to attend on November 9th and would like us to refund your contribution, please email Shari Rubin at shari@integratedfundraising.com and she will take care of your request.

1. i hope so, but does he actually need to be there when it's announced ?
isn't the announcement made usually without the winner present ?

and later on there is a ceremony where they recieve the prize.

2. ooh, I hope so
we all could use a little good news ... and to have a prominent American be cheered by the world, instead of ... well, you know.

4. The Ceremony is always on December 10..

the announcement is this Friday. No winner is selected until then because the announcement immediately follows the vote. Thus, there is no winner as of yet.

7. Yeah. Could be just a coincidence too.
Because no vote has even taken place for the award.

5. Call me a phantazmaGoracist, but how 'bout a Gore-Boxer ticket in 08?
Think it might get some pro-environment votes?

9. Hi, rusty quoin. Have to admit, it came to me just from the article,
and then I realized that neoconservatives' heads would explode if EITHER Gore or Boxer were on our ticket, nevermind BOTH!

and it was a pleasant thought!

13. Hey there. Good to run into you tonight.
I'm rooting for Al to take the Nobel this Friday.

He's done just superb work and brought the issue into much sharper focus. Not quite single-handedly, but significantly so.

15. Hey, OC!
Good to see you, too. I've been trying to get some work done, but I just have to stop in now and then.

I do hope Al wins the prize -- he deserves it.

10. Oh I hope so...and I think I am going to write a letter to rush
the fat ass coward and a republican group nominated bush for the peace prize. Where in the hell they had a basis goodness only knows, but I want to rub it in. Course he'll never read it but I will get the satisfaction of telling the drug addict what a piece of dog excrement he is. Hey I know what let's ask him to dress as a fire plug for Halloween. Being a foil for dog doo doo is about all he is good for.
