Gordon Fischer: Clinton could harm Iowa Caucuses
BALLOT BATTLE — A top supporter of Barack Obama says Hillary Clinton could harm the Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses by not removing her name from the Michigan primary ballot.

Former Iowa Democratic Party chairman Gordon Fisher is calling on Iowa Democrats to pressure Clinton to follow the lead of most other Democratic candidates in choosing not to participate in the Michigan contest.

“I’m pleased the candidate I am supporting, Sen. Barack Obama — along with Sens. Biden and Edwards and Gov. Richardson — successfully removed their names from the ballot,” Fischer said on his blog, Iowa True Blue.

Michigan has scheduled its contest for Jan. 15, which flouts the Democratic National Committee’s schedule for the early nominating contests. The Iowa caucuses are tentatively scheduled for Jan. 14, though Iowa leaders are expected to choose an earlier date in response to challenges from other states.

1. May I add
"The Clinton campaign has said it's unnecessary to remove Clinton's name from the ballllot.....Clinton will continue to honor her pledge not to campaign or spend money in states that violate party rules."

5. The ballots aren't printed yet. Why doesn't she request
to have her name removed? Why? Why?

6. Um because there are legal issues and the dealine passed Tuesday
Biden did not actually remove his name and Kucinich;s campaign fucked up the paperwork.

8.  I can guarantee you that if she put her foot down
the secretary of state would honor her request and remove her name. She could threaten them.

As still assert that until the design is at the printer's, it is NOT too late!

9. No, that would be illegal.
There was a deadline for removal from the ballot with notarized paperwork to be followed. That passed Tuesday.

Kucinich's campaign attempted twice to file paperwork and was rejected for not having it properly notarized.

I also cannot find verification whether Biden filed paperwork or is simply saying he won't participate.

2. What a bizarre comment -
"could harm the Iowa's first in the nation caucuses".

The rest of the article does not support the comment - and neither do the facts. Good grief and blah, blah, blah.

3. So who's in control? Who pulls the strings? Someone let me know. As an organizer told me once
it's better to "make" a politician than to be one. Who is "making" our Dem politicians?

4. Gordon Fisher does know the deadline for ballot removal was Tuesday right?
Clinton has said repeatedly that she will honor her pledge to not campaign or spend money in MI or FL.

Interesting that the Obama campaign went beyond the call of the pledge in MI yet feel quite comfortable doing fundraising in FL which. If he really wants to show committment to IA beyond the pledge he would stop fundraising too.

This is like his I don't take federal lobbyist dough schtick where he still took donation from state lobbyists and lobbyist spouses.

11. I'm not sure whether people don't know that Clinton's
honoring her pledge, or are just looking for another way to bash her.

13. I think Obama's campaign is looking for something to show him taking a stand
Ya know remind voters of the guy in 2002 who said no to the war.

Instead of the candidate who can't be bothered to show up for key votes.

15. Maybe so,
but it's an incredibly stupid tactic to use when he's doing the same thing as Clinton in FL. Maybe they're targeting for the headline only readers.

7. Since he endorsed Obama he is going to spin each and every interview to Obama
(and why isn't he attacking the other three candidates that are still running in Michigan? Why only Clinton)

You want more Gordon Fischer, go read his blog http://www.iowatrueblue.com/

And please, find a better source for Hillary Hatred. Gordon Fischer is just shilling for his candidate AND trying to get his name in the paper :puke:
