Poll shows Hillary leading Giuliani in three key swing states(FL, OH, PA)
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 10:35 AM by RamboLiberal
Hillary Clinton leads GOP rival Rudy Giuliani in three key swing states, a new poll showed yesterday, prompting Team Clinton to mock Team Rudy for boasting he would clobber her in November 2008.

The latest Quinnipiac poll showed Clinton leading Giuliani in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania by 3 to 6 points, a dramatic reversal from six months ago, when Giuliani led in those states.

The poll comes a week after the Giuliani campaign sought to portray him as the strongest candidate to run against Clinton. The campaign released hypothetical electoral maps showing Clinton with a definitive win over Giuliani in - drum roll, please - only two states.

"For most Americans, MapQuest is a Web site that provides directions. For Mayor Giuliani, it's the task of trying to figure out creative ways to camouflage the fact that he's losing to Sen. Clinton," zinged Blake Zeff, a Clinton spokesman, in reference to the maps.

BTW my message to both candidates - win your friggin' party nomination first.

But still though early this is a good sign for Dems IMHO.

1. Anyone who gets in front of HRC...
...is going to end up with pointy, small-heeled footprints going up one side and down the other. I think she's unstoppable.

4. Beware Vote Stealing in All Three of Those States.
PA has 54 counties on paperless Direct Record Electronic machines.

ANYthing is possible.

Just sayin'.

5. Some DU polls showed that a pile of poop could beat Rudy...
by a higher percentage than Clinton could, so be careful how much stock you keep in polls. I don't think everyone in the country voted on the DU poll so I'm not sure what it points out?

6. Can't see Hillary winning in FL or OH. PA will be hard for her as well.
The problem is that these polls are so early. Many Dems in the past have held leads over their Repuke opponent in swing states only to lose many of them on Election Day. Way to early to look at polls in swing states. They could swing in either direction.

Florida and Ohio are almost out of reach for anyone perceived by the general electorate as a northern liberal Democrat. Especially a Senator. Too many Repukes and Repuke-leaning Indeps in both states to go for someone like Hillary. Rural Ohio would come out in droves to vote against her. It isn't going to happen.

How about Pennsylvania? Hillary could win there, but Ghouliani's presence makes it too close for comfort. A lot of Pa. could be tempted and go with Ghouliani, who is not that far away from them.
