A personal request of Hillary Clinton Haters |
|
If you discover that conservatives intensely hate Frank's Muffaletta's in the French Quarter and if you find out that they really despise Car Talk, The NPR radio show which airs on Saturday Mornings please keep that info to yourselves. Frank's is my favorite Muffaletta and I start every Saturday Morning with Click and Clack. I know if you tell me they are hated by conservatives I will have to hate them as well and terminate my support for them. I guess I will soon have to start hating myself.
I look forward to "you just don't understand" and "You just don't get it" and "you are comparing kumquats to okra." Cmon, you can do better then that; how bout someone asking me why I hate America.
I will support with gusto and as many Hog Bucks I can scrounge up whomever the Dem Party nominates. Even your candidate.

I love the boys. Listen to them out in my garage every Saturday Morning and sometimes catch the rerun on Sunday. I do not support Hillary, just an attempt to get a little bit of civility into our primary chit chats.
A couple of weeks ago Click and Clack made this awesome statement:
- Guys just have this incredible desire to do something stupid and they should be allowed to do so. Wives just don't understand.
Can Sophocles top that?

It's a good reminder why I love this site. Everybody needs to lighten up around here. Thanks.
And yes, there are some differences between what guys sometimes want to do, and what wives can understand...been noticing that piece of wisdom for more than a few years. It's good when you get to the point in the relationship where you let each other enjoy hobbies or listening to shows without interfering. In all fairness, DH does not understand my obsession with DU anymore than I understand his constant some of the shows he watches.

We have our time together and our time apart and there is peace in the kingdom. I have noticed her meandering out in the garage between 9 and 10 on Saturday Mornings though. What's up with that?

I will write his name in when I vote in my state's primary IN MARCH! It'll really be a significant vote. So we decide the direction by figuring out who the opposition opposes? My motives? I'd prefer - vote for my candidate because; instead of don't for her because they hate her.

what do I want those whom I am trying to "manipulate" to do? Discuss the issues? What a novel idea. But we can't do that without sifting through the hate hillary nonsense. I perused a couple of threads yesterday. There was no discussion of issues, only hillary can't win because she'll excite their base. I guess to some that might be an issue. I'd sure like to manipulate them to do otherwise.

And the reasons are because he had the judgement and bravery to speak out AGAINST the Iraq invasion when the vast majority of the country was buying what the admin. was selling-just like Hillary bought it (OR she DIDN'T buy it but voted for it anyway since it was the popular thing to do). He knew and said exactly what would happen as a result of our invasion. He has over 20 years of experience in govt. He's not afraid to meet with our enemies and to say what he thinks. He's very inspiring when he gives speeches, speaks out against those he disagrees with and sticks up for himself when attacked, and still is seen as someone who can bring this country together. I don't want someone to bring back the old feelings of divisiveness and partisanship whose specialty is triangulation. The fact that she will energize the Repubs. to come out and vote for their candidate when they would otherwise stay home is just another reason she's not the person to be our nominee.

I hope he has a place for General Clark in his administration.
It will be great that the democrats will nominate a candidate who will not be subject to any personal attacks or swift boat type shenanigans of the loyal opposition. Especially if its a black male. No way the christians in the gop will dare run any anti-Obama ads or print negative literature about him or trash him daily on their hate radio network. I guess if anyone but Hillary is nominated they will go softly into that goodnight.
The only candidate I have ever advocated for president in 2008 is General Clark and in my insane rationale he will get my vote IN MARCH 2008 when my state hold's its impotent primary, long after the selection has been made.

Of course the RW will put out attacks and smears against him. But with Hillary as our nominee and even with her as president, partisan politics will be just as bad as they are now with Bush in office. I want someone who doesn't have so many people HATING him the way Repubs. hate Hillary. I'd like to have a more unified country which I don't see happening with Hillary as president.

The gop and the neocons changed the tone in America in the 80's when ray-gun gave birth to idiots like limbaugh and hannity who can only make a living by hating and lying. Regardless of the dem candidate, if he/she gets elected the republicans will have articles of impeachment drafted by March 2009 and the Iraqi debacle will all be the dems fault. And the right wing noise machine will crank up their "Arkansas Project" on the next dem president. It doesn't matter who it is. The "project" is probably already in draft form; and facts don't matter, just like they didn't matter in the 90's.
Thanks to conservatism and ignorance we won't be a unified country for a long, long time regardless of who is in the white house after the next election.

|
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 01:41 PM by smoogatz
We've both been around long enough to know that civility is what happens when you have to worry about somebody punching you in the face if you don't mind your manners. Allow people to write whatever the hell they want to whomever they want without consequence, and civility's the first casualty, followed soon after by reason and any chance of having a coherent discussion. DU isn't a discussion forum so much as a dogfight, most of the time.
I'll support whoever the nominee turns out to be, though I'd pick pretty much the entire existing field before Hillary. Still, she has some qualities that would serve her well as president--not least of which is that she'd personally jam an ice-pick into Rudy's eye socket if she thought it'd get her elected. I think the Democrats as a group could benefit from an injection of Hillary-balls, frankly.
On edit: I'm a Central Market man, myself, but look forward to doing the side-by-side comparison someday soon.

I'm just a dumb ole boy from Arkansas and I get confused when I'm told I should not vote for someone because people whom I disagree with about everything political don't like that someone intensely. My rational disconnect meter is pegging. Should we reach out to someone like george w. bush to unite the country?

If someone were to call me a "Hillary's-policy-hater", I'd be happy to agree.

57. Its really pretty simple huh Friend |
|
We love us some Snoopy in our household. Got some big pics of him in the living room and I still have my Snoopy trash can that I got for a Christmas Present 37 years ago. He and it have served me well. There is an art gallery on Royal in New Orleans featuring a lot of Peanuts Art. The expensive stuff. 3K for a picture of Snoopy??
And I still think a Peanuts Halloween is the greatest show ever put on TV.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3599091Is your post really addressed to the handful of actual haters? Or anyone and everyone who would rather she weren't our candidate?

59. I don't care if she is our candidate or not |
|
I've had a Rodney King moment for several days now. I'd like see us get along. And I still fail to get the logic. Don't vote for this candidate because conservatives hate her. I'm supposed to get behind the dem candidate that gets all the endorsements from the gop? And its not a case of "not getting it." I get it just fine. She'll mobilize the base. They crawl out of the woodwork because they hate her so intensely. They will crawl out of the woodwork whomever our candidate is.
To your question: I was not going to enter our primary wars, but I was overwhelmed with the degree of "hatred" (if you will) directed towards hillary and the bottom line necessity to not vote for her. If we vote for her, the universe will end as we know it.
