10 things I want
10 things I want Democratic Candidates for President to pledge to do:

1. Pledge to repudiate the Bush-Cheney doctrine of the “Unitary Executive” and its overreaching effort to concentrate all government power in the presidency.
2. Pledge to reestablish respect for the balance of powers specified in the Constitution.
3. Pledge to sign a repeal of the Military Commissions act, and reestablish “Habeas Corpus”.
4. Pledge to sign a repeal of the “Patriot Act”
5. Pledge to respect and follow the FISA act of 1978 and its provisions as originally intended to protect American Citizens from unreasonable and illegal surveillance.
6. Pledge to declare “Null and Void” all the convoluted legal opinions regarding the use of torture promulgated by the Gonzales Department of Justice/
7. Pledge to declare “Null and Void” all of George W. Bush’s (152 to date) “Signing Statements”.
8. Pledge to declare “Null and Void” Bush’s executive order #13233 of November 1, 2001, which hampers access to presidential records, and reestablish the original criteria for such access as per the “Presidential Records Act” of 1978.
9. Pledge to de-politicize the Justice Department and respect the independence thereof.
10. Pledge to end the climate of perpetual fear which the Bush Administration has created in order to undermine The Constitution and destroy the America we knew.

1. They take a pledge already. If all of them (yes, Dems and Repukes)
would simply uphold THAT pledge, all this other stuff would be unnecessary.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out what should be obvious to our elected officials.
