The more the men gang up on Hillary, the stronger her support will be |
|
As the republican and democratic candidates have stepped up the attacks the last few weeks on Hillary, she is at her strongest support ever, breaking 50% in two polls now.
You know why?
Because The strategy has backfired in a big way.
Having everyone attack props her up as the giant in the race and makes her appear strong and almost supernatural. Everyone else appears weak and diminutive in comparison.
Women are also especially turned off by negative campaigning and the symbolism of over a dozen men ganging up on Hillary in some massive political witchhunt also turns them off IN A BIG WAY. They admire Hillary's strength and determination. Hillary appears presidential and above the fray while everyone else looks childish and juvenile with their attacks. It's kind of like Hillary is this 80 foot giant and all the democrat and republican candidates are little midgets throwing stones and beating at her giant feet with sticks trying to stop her way to the white house.
But it won't work.

2. agree...also psychologically, it is like a man attacking your mother. Both |

men and women will react viscerally to that and feel protective towards her.

But then, my mother is a Democrat.

4. Hillary Clinton is NOT a progressive and that’s why many people (men & WOMEN) |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 06:46 PM by GreenTea
on “the left “ dislike her. She’s a neo-con war hawk and a DLC toady who will run economic policy for the sake of the wealthy and the corporations. With Democrats like her who needs Republicans. It's why Republicans & their media machine push her day & night and donate to her campaign, when at the end of the day she will side with them, at least on the more important issues. She is the best chance to create deep polarization to keep the presidential race close for the republicans to steal it again....of course the republicans want her and the cloud of controversy around her....Makes it much easier for the slimy republicans!

12. Really maybe you can detail Mark Penn's union busting activities? |

Not the firm that bought his company, not someone who once worked for him but Mark Penn.

14. So who's claiming that Obama is a progressive? |
|
There's only one progressive in the running, and he's not in the top tier. No matter that they ALL claim to be progressive.

One website saying that is the case does not make it so. Progressive Punch uses a flawed methodology, and they hardly claim that their list of who are the most progressive members of the Senate is factually based. They chose five Senators who they consider to be "hardcore progressives", and then simply looked to see who voted with those five Senators. Even if those five Senators voted in a not so progressive way (such as voting for the Patriot act) it still counts as a progressive vote as far as Progressive Punch's methodology goes, it is a very flawed methodology and to cite it is fact that Hillary is more progressive than Obama based on such a flawed methodology is not right.
And for the record I am not an Obama supporter either.

voted for her...the election wouldn't be close enough for the Rethugs to steal.
I wasn't on her bandwagon because I also like Biden, but he doesn't seem to be a possible candidate...yet! However, all the anti Hillary posts make me want to defend her and support her. Good job my fellow Democrats.

If that was the criteria DK would be far and away the front runner now because SO MANY people say rude, crude and snide things about him, thereby causing everyone to rally around him because of him being attacked.
I don't see that happening. Therefore "Hillary being attacked makes me support her" is bullshit.
If you support Hillary it is because you favor the positions and goals of the DLC and neo-liberal war hawks. Why act like you're ashamed of it?

|
when we feel we are right... sorry, that line is so tired and boring... ohhhh... poor, little, dumb women.. too feeble to handle the big, bad world of dirty politics...Fuck that... Who predominantly where's pink and doesn't give up. Who in your town won't give up on an item until it is handled? Who has endurance to run a marathon most of their lives? Fuck that line. I'll fight.. and I won't hand this country over to that woman without a throw down.

You are right. This would happen to some extent with any frontrunner, but the reality of so many men ganging up on one woman at the top of her game could be a big turn-off for a lot of folks.

16. I think people are smarter than that. |
|
I think most people are like me and will choose how our children's future turns out by looking at the issues and not making important decisions based on someone being attacked. This is our children's future and I believe people will make educated decisions on the facts so they can make a clear and positive choice for the country. I cant imagine many people would make such an important choice based on the fact that someone is being attacked?
