Hillary Clinton Eats Babies
In other words, think thoughtfully (I know, I know) before you post utter crap here in the heat of the moment.

Within three or four months, the one you slime (whether Edwards, Obama or Clinton) may just turn out to be our nominee.

Our standard bearer.

The one we will work with to defeat the REAL opponents: the Republics.

Go ahead and rage now, if it serves some bizarre emotional purpose for you, but three months is not far away.

And what will you do then?

Well, I hope you can live with the 2008 elections then. I have a feeling we are getting ready for our first woman President.

13. I've lived with the 2000 and 2004 elections... this one's going to be just as shitty... only now...
I just don't even give a shit... which may be why I don't feel satisfied. Sorry, I don't care she's a woman... Nancy Pelosi's a woman and oddly enough it's her policies that make me despise her. You can have your first woman President... I would simply prefer a good woman President... Elizabeth Edwards comes to mind.

They will use "our" talking points against the nominee.

Remember that the flip-flop charge against Kerry was a Deaniac invention!

22. a look at Calif's last gubernatorial election
All Arnold had to do was quote the Westley campaign over and over. The lack of civility doomed us, as it is going to do again. You end up believing all the negatives and hating them all

25. Well, all I know is that I put a lot of thought into who I'd be supporting
and I became a Hillary supporter sometime last November/December; it was a gradual thing. Why does that matter?

This is crap. The poster who first said this was pointing out the blinkered adulation that typifies quite a few of her followers: nothing she does or could do can lessen her greatness in their eyes.

It's a good point.

She's supposedly a tireless fighter against the right. She isn't. She's supposedly a leader, yet she ducks virtually all controversy, then trumpets her solitary steadfastness. She's against the war, then not only signs on to a bullshit "sense" that cracks the door to the biggest military gatecrasher of the day, but to further hedge her bet, she co-sponsors it.

She was a board member of Wal-Mart and turned a blind eye to union busting, voted for trade deals that sucked, supports outsourcing/insourcing visas yet she's a champion of the worker.

Enough of that, though. People make Saracat's satirical line about eating babies sound like it was a real characterization of Clinton, when it was a swipe at the blind allegiance of those who will follow her for being something she precisely isn't. That's just silly.

The real problem is that people call her a Republican. (SO unfair; that was a long time ago.) They call her a liar. (Often she merely exaggerates.) They call her bought and paid for. (Hurry, there are still a few bits on the rack at a reasonable price.) They call her arrogant. (Come on, she didn't SLAP that peon in Iowa, did she?) They call her a warmonger. (Okay, there ya got me; she actually IS a warmonger...but she SAYS really nice things...)

She wasn't accused of eating babies--I'm sure she had a good reason to eat them anyway, and it was for their own good--her FOLLOWERS were accused of not noticing the little severed arms dangling from the corners of her mouth. THAT'S a problem.

She's an steamroller stoked with bales of money who has no compunction about crushing any opponent in the most resounding way, so it's hard to have such pity for her plight. She's Goliath, even though her people suck endless pity for her being an underdog. After their collective antics, she and her people have no leg to stand on to claim some right to be exempt from the same scorched-earth politics she and her husband play, and the pleas are nauseating.

As for the thrust of your thread, think about this: if anything we can say about her is so damaging to her that she won't be able to sustain the 9 months of shrill reactionary carping from February 6th through early November, then she simply won't make it. It's better to find that out right now.

As for fair play, she, her handlers and many of her supporters don't play nice either.

It's a galling and pathetic prattle of the privileged to call foul so often while slinging mud and playing for keeps.
