I need help pairing my four candidates to two. |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-11-07 09:37 PM by mmonk
Any supporters of these four, give me your best shot. They are as follows: Bill Richardson, Chris Dodd, Dennis Kucinich and Joe Biden. I can't keep sending four candidates donations.

1. They're all good people. Send 2 cash this month, the other 2 next month. |

3. True. But by December the field could be narrowed. Candidates may |
|
drop out. You may have fewer total favorites available by then.
If your allegiances shift in Oct. or Nov., you can do a shift in contributions.

4. You may be right. Maybe I should just cool my heels |
|
and let it play out. I sent a contribution to Edwards also after he bought time after a bush speech. I thought that was pretty gutsy. I reward people when I see something I like. But the four have been my ongoing contributions.

5. Personally, I'd drop Biden. |
|
I have not yet forgiven him for carrying MBNA's water on the "Bankruptcy Reform" bill.

14. No candidate is better suited to deal with our current mess than Joe Biden |
|
We need someone who is pragmatic, knowledgeable, and experienced, and Joe Biden best fits that bill. No one else running has had more experience, both on the international stage and here at home, than Sen. Biden. Our current president lacked experience, especially in foreign policy, and we know where that has gotten us.
A lot of Democrats want to wage war against conservatives in this country, but we would do so at our own peril; we've got much more important things to do, and with the right leadership, we will win all the converts we need. Joe Biden is the candidate who can do the best job of healing much of the division we are suffering from. We've got to quit fucking around or we're going to end up losing many of the precious things we enjoy and take for granted, as we sit around bickering about relatively insignificant things like Biden's vote on the Bankruptcy Reform bill or Hillary Clinton's laugh. I mean, Americans and innocent Iraqis are dying, DYING, everyday. That's a fact that we should never lose sight of.

6. I'm mainly supporting Obama right now |
|
but also sent Biden money. I'm hoping he jumps up in the polls. He has the experience, and the likeability, and IMO appears most Presidential of your four. Unfortunately, I don't think Kucinich or Dodd will be going any higher than they are now, I think Richardson and Biden have a 50/50 chance of jumping up - I'd pare it down to the ones who might actually have a chance to win, although it's not looking good for any of them right now. Things can change, though, so I'd try to help out the most viable of the four. Again, IMO they would be Biden and Richardson. both of whom could probably really use the money.

Send it all to him. That is what I do. If not now when?

12. No, they are fine too. It took me a while to narrow to these four. |
|
While its easier for some, I had a lot to consider in reference to what I want and I took into consideration some of the work the candidates have done.

16. I'm practical and realist |
|
So I would say Richardson and Biden. For Dennis, this is and always has been a platform for which he knows he has no chance to win, so if you support him, you are basically supporting having him out there and speaking for you, that is all. Dodd will drop out soon, I would guess. Richardson and Biden could overtake Edwards for third place, though.
I would support Richardson just because he is someone who I respect, even though his campaign is not... going... well.. heh.

So I assume you like them for different reasons.
In that case, I would go with your heart, you know? :)

18. pear, pair, pare --- pairing, paring |
|
If you mean to reduce your 4 candidates to 2 then paring is the correct word.
If you mean to match a candidate with another candidate then pairing is the correct word.
As for helping you decide who to drop from your donation... I vote to drop Biden.

My heart is with Kucinich and Richardson (at least from the start). But then I couldn't ignore Dodd's work in the Senate in narrowing the gap needed to restore habeas corpus or Biden's work in directly talking his plan to the parties in Iraq. Thus how I got to where I am.

Leave DK in the mix, to support the best platform, the best stance on every issue.
Leave Richardson or Biden in, and drop Dodd.
I like some things about both, and dislike others. I'm also biased. They have better ed plans than Dodd, who is too cozy with NCLB to get any liking from me.
