1. He's always been a ray of sunshine to me. It's so depressing |
|
to think that this man has not been our president because an idiot managed to get his brother to steal it for him.

2. Good g*d, he makes me glad to be a human today... |
|
He has to be flying high - this will certainly give a boost to his efforts to get the word out that action is needed NOW if we are going to survive as a species.

5. I don't take pride in Mr. Gore's achievement. I didn't do it. He did. |
|
He earned every bit of what he got. In fact, he earned other things he didn't get, like the Presidency in 2000.
For me or for anyone else but Albert Gore to take pride in his achievement is either glory hogging...or a desperate realization that all the arguing and bitching in places like DU haven't made this country one bit fairer or more democratic (yes, lower-case d).
It's as bad as a certain ugly Republican candidate claiming he in some way helped during September 11, and making it the centerpiece of his campaign.

6. Yea, well not everyone agrees. |

This morning I was up bright and early and turned on the rerun of the Glenn Beck show to watch while I was having coffee. I know, I know, but sometimes it's entertaining and I only watch it on Saturday morning because the only other things on are infomercials. Anyhow, this morning he had some crackpot preacher on from the Cornerstone Church in Texas. They were talking about the "end times," the "Rapture," the "Anti-Christ" and all the other tenets of wingnutery. Then Glenn Beck asks the preacher about global warming. "Global warming??" says the preacher, looking at Glenn Beck as if he's out of his mind. "Global warming?? I don't believe in that." To the preacher's credit, Glenn Beck later asked him who he thought the most evil world leader was and he said Ahmadinejad. Then he asked, who's the second most evil and the preacher said "Pass."
