I Figured Out Gore's Problem |
|
He's too thoughful to be president... I wasn't around for Adlai Stevenson but the same was said about him too... A man said to Stevenson "all the smart people are voting for you"...Stevenson replied "I know but I want to win."
I was listening to Al Gore in a Fresh Air interview on NPR... He is a bright, bright man, and much more introspective than your average politician....

1. The difference, of course, is |
|
that Gore *already* won once.
It'd be a cake-walk to win again, especially now.
A no-brainer.

6. I Think Gore Is More Of An Abstract Thinker |
|
I was listening to Carter this morning...His thinking is very linear which is what you would expect from a nuclear engineer or scientist...

3. Yup....We're A Country Filled With MORONS!! |
|
Sometimes I actually Hope that our "democracy" collapses, because perhaps that's the only way for the IDIOTS amongst us to realize what the fuck is going on.
Al's Much too intelligent to be leader of this country of Morons.

4. don't you remember the BS in the 2000 debates about how people wouldn't vote for a smart person- |
|
that al reminded people of the 'brains" they disliked in school? bush, supposedly, was far more accessible and "folksy" with "the common touch" (I am surprised lightning didn't strike these people)

Most of the people we've got leading national political parties up here are not the stereotypical politician type. In fact, quite a number started as backroom policy wonks. Even our current Prime Minister -- and the leader of the opposition too -- are not natural-born campaigners.
I've worked for a number of provincial and federal-level pols, and I can honestly say that they make Al Gore look like Austin Powers. Really!

12. I know what you mean. Dion better get out there and be a leader. I'm Canadian |
|
too and I'm worried about the Conservatives getting a majority. Thankfully Ontarioans have Mike Harris fresh on their minds so they will likely not be voting for Harper on mass...if an election does come this fall.

Good point, applegrove. How bad is it when Dion is making Harper look reassuring? (To some of the electorate, anyway.)
