I did not want to push this man into the campaign. If he'd wanted to run he would have done so already. But more and more I'm beginning to think we really need this man. After winning the Nobel Prize, an Emmy, best picture and many other awards, lest we forget his books, he's accomplished a great deal. He's certainly made all of us aware of global warming. He's had an extensive history in politics. He knows how the system works and is thick skinned enough to deal with it. Can you just imagine Kucinich or Edwards as his running mate? I think the Clinton's would understand because they very much know how the system works too. Even Hillary must see that this country is calling on him. The US population has become more aware politically than they were in 2000 we could stand behind him and participate. I know the importance of being aware and involved since reading his "Assault on Reason".
By drafting Gore it mostly gives us back something we haven't had in a long time - HOPE. Maybe we really can have a future.
So today I signed the Draft Gore petition.
- and I don't feel pushy.

Candidates have to want the job and want to run for it. Gore is only posting 10-15% in polls right now. Maybe it would go up some if he actually runs. But he will have to want to do it.

5. I think Gore is waiting until December 10th (?) ...until he recieves his NPP. |
|
I think he could wait until November of '08 and he could still win.

I also think, unlike many, that he would be able to do much more as a president with regards to global warming then he could as a citizen. And I don't think it would "politicize" the issue.
However, since global warming is a magnitude greater in importance than politics, I don't worry about whether Gore will run or not. And global warming is making it's self evident.
Gore has done his job. But I honestly do not see why he would not run.
Today was pivotal in more ways than one. Once again he finds himself faced off with Bush. It's deja vu all over again. Let's see how this one shapes up.
