I remember early this summer when I took notice at the asterik named Dean.
I was originally interested in Dean because... well... he was a doctor and I live in a family of doctors. Yes, not the best issue but Dean grew on me quickly. I looked at his brave stance on gay rights and was proud to have him as my pick.
When Dean began to catch fire with his Anti-Iraq sweep I knew, this was the one who was going to beat Bush. Dean's honest and powerful speech made me a proud supporter and democrat and I thank him for standing up when it seemed like everyone was sitting down or hiding under bush.
Once the fall rolled around Dean's anti-washington speech and negative attacks on democrats began to worry me. I began to fear that he was too liberal, then too conservative, then too angry, etc etc. I eventually jumped off his wagon in fear that I just didn't... "get" Dean.
I shopped around the canidates and picked Kerry, a strong looking liberal democrat and was pleased by his townhalls.
After sticking with Kerry for awhile I went and saw Dean for the first time (the 1st time I've seen any major politician) at the National Urban League Conference. I was again blown away by his stump speech and got back on his wagon... only to jump off later due to reasons before.
Why am I going through my life story haha, I just wanted to give an example of what many Americans think. It might seem like Dean was being kicked around sometimes but I don't think anyone can deny the great impact he had on this campaign, the party, and all of us.
Thank you Dr. Dean. We've had a on again, off again relationship but you won't soon be forgot!

2. I salute Dr. Howard Dean |
|
I posted this on another thread, but I'm going to post it again here.
I am proud to have worked on Howard Dean's campaign. And I thank the good Doctor for his service. Long before the Washington democrats began attacking bu$h, Dean was our beacon of hope. He spoke out our frustration with the hands off attitude our own party was showing the bu$h administration. He gave us hope that we could take our country back. He comforted us when we were feeling at our lowest. We owe Howard Dean a world of thanks, whether he was your candidate or not. He helped us get this party excited again, motivated into action and focused a way to use our anger.
Now let's make sure the regime change happens in November.
Howard Dean, you sir, are my hero and I will never forget your service.

3. I'm glad he's now out... |
|
But I don't think it's much of an overstatement to say that he saved the life of the Democratic Party in 2003, and for that he deserves a place of honor in Boston this summer.

5. He is not really out, he is just not campaigning "actively." |
|
We are doing his primary campaigning for him. He is still on the ballots. I feel his superdelegates were under great party pressure to drop him, thus he had to adopt the policy of not "actively campaigning."
Such a shame. They don't seem to be forcing the others out yet.

6. Thank God Dean is done. |
|
I hated to see him go, but I'm glad he stuck to his promise of dropping out. He had a good message, but put it "out there" in a bad manner. I wish him the best in the future.
I hope he does NOT make a third party to run on. He'll surely hurt us in the election if he were to do so, and Bush would be reelected. We dont' want that now, do we?

8. He is not yet "out". He is not "actively campaigning." |
|
He said no third party in a moving speech heard 3 times on C-Span today. He will support the eventual nominee, but he is still on the ballot for the primaries. His grassroots are doing the campaigning while and the group, including Roy Neel set up a group to fund and support candidates for office.
He is doing a lot of good this way, while still keeping delegates, trying for more, and working for the party.

I love this man and his message. He is not going away and neither are WE the collective group of Dean supporters. So before you start spewing your Repucklican type rhetoric against a principaled man, just know we ar not going away. We awful people believe the Iraqi war was wrong, the Bush tax cut was wrong, the assault on the environment was wrong, the fact we all do not have adequate healthcare and education is wrong. The conglomerate we call the media is wrong.......get used to it...we are here we are angry and baby we are gonna scream....so go back to your frightened puritanical roots and hide, because Democracy is on the way.
