The excitement is gone with the departure of first Clark, & now Dean.
Like them or not, they aroused passion in their supporters.
I went to the Kerry website the other day, & the most hits they had was the day it was announced Clark would endorse him.
Edwards seems to inspire a little more passion among supporters, but it's not like Clark & Dean.
I think Kerry & Edwards are very predictable.
With Dean & Clark, there was always an edge; nothing was predictable, & I miss it so much.

2. Which is exactly why * wants to run against those two... |

Don't think for a second that Dean and Clark got marginalized/torpedoed on their own accord. No, the Media and the Neo-cons have been playing with us since day one. And it looks like they've won. We now have two "ho-hum" candidates to run against what will no doubt be a popular Bush in Nov. with the removal of troops from Iraq, capture of Saddam, and many "great" photo ops in NYC. Not to mention any other Oct. surprises they plan on pulling.

3. Without them, there would have been no thrill at all |

:grouphug:
And that's what these two great men have done for these elections: electrify it. They launched the Big Idea that now is beginning to resonate all over: that Bush is a fraud.
And it is thanks to them that the Big Resolve is on the mind of everybody who really cares about this country and its people: that Bush is a one-termer.
They're around, they will be around when the time of truth comes - they have a great role to play: keeping the ball going until November, and beyond.
According to Chinese astrology, 2004 is the Year of the Wood Monkey. Thanks to Howard Dean and Wesley Clark, 2005 will be the year the monkey will be driven out of the woods, right back to Crawford, TX.
Now it's up to us to prove them both right: we got the power, and we give 'em hell.

5. God damn it, I'm sick of this. |

Dean supporters are in a "bad mood." They have "lost the thrill" and are "debiliatated." A lot of them won't vote, or won't donate.
I'm on the edge of being uncivil, and I realize this, but the childishness being displayed is making me very angry.
Your "mood" is irrelevant. You are Democrats. You stand for something. You are supposed to fight for virtue, not give up when you get "depressed." You're all acting like the worst conservative stereotypes of liberals.
I loved him too, okay? I shed a tear for Dean. But I'm not going to let my petty, self-aggrandizing emotions corrode my dedication to removing Bush from office, getting the U.S. out of Iraq, and fixing the global mess that the PNAC have created.
All of you need to get beyond yourselves and keep fighting. Think of all the conservatives who had broken hearts (just like yours) when Clinton won both times. It made them tougher, and they got us back big time.
Candidates need spines... but voters (and activists, and concerned citizens) do too.

so don't blame the Dean people for my post.
I will vote for the nominee, because we cannot have another 4 years of Bush; he is just too dangerous.
But, I reserve the right to be disappointed about the current state of the Dem party.

I too support the Anyone but Bush Campaign and damn straight I'll vote(hopefuly not on a Diebold machine) !!!!
but picture this-
we elect a candidate to replace Shrub- he wins we get him for 4 years, then we have a chance for another 4 after that. ...but should our candidate be not exactly what we want, we are STUCK ...sad but true--
Say for instance our winner supports NAFTA?
What if he continues to beat the war drum? & maybe instates the draft?
What if our guy doesn NOT REPEAL the PATRIOT ACT ?
How 'bout he still makes no move toward providing basic services in THIS country like HEALTH CARE for EVERY citizen(like all other modern countries do esp in Europe)
Say he gets compfortable with Carlyle and family?
ONCE HE'S IN IT"S TOO LATE We had better be VERY careful and ASK questions about policies and where each guy stands on issues and make them stick to it and not sway(like their position on war etc.,)
So far this has been a media fiesta and American idol competition. So far the average voter can't even tell you which candidate stands(or stood) for what-- This is idiotic--they just say well I heard on T.V. (or I read) that Kerry is electable. Does the average voter have the slightest clue ? Do they have any idea what they are buying? SHEEP deserve what they get. We are not supposed to be sheep. We are suposed to ask QUESTIONS !!! Very few voters care to examine closely and recognize the significance of their choice. What a damn shame!
None of this may matter anyway if the FIX is in.
If that happens again this time --those individuals who are serious about maintaining a free America will likely not stand by idley with the SHEEP. There will be riots in the streets and then military law will follow if Shrub gets in through surpressing our election process!!

Whichever bland, predictable candidate of the two wins, I'll have to vote for him anyway, since I am in the "battleground" state of PA.
But since there is nothing really to distinguish them, and they both stand for essentially nothing except "electability" and getting new jobs for Donna Brasile et al, why should I even pay attention?
