Vote Democratic. Period.
I don't know yet for whom I will vote. The fact is that I don't need to know now. I have time to listen to more and make a more informed decision later. I know that I will vote for someone who is generally like-minded which is all the democratic candidates. I do not agree with a single one on all the issues. I also know that beyond sharing my views, they have to have the ability to get things done in DC. I don't necessarily think they are all equal in that department.

However, I know is that

if Edwards wins the nomination, I'll vote for him.

if Obama wins, I'll vote for him.

if Hillary Clinton wins, I'll vote for her.

if Biden wins, I'll vote for him.

I will not vote for a third party candidate. No Ralph Naders, no Michael Bloombergs. I will not vote for a Republican, particularly not one of these republicans. I also will not stay home. I will vote. I will vote democratic. I do not want to even risk another term of a GOP catastrophe. The thought makes me cringe.

There is a lot of discussion on these boards about who some will vote for and who some will never vote for. Fine. I hope you find a place somewhere. But I think if you hang around Democratic Underground, you should vote democratic.

1. I tend to agree. It's fine to be critical and attack Dem candidate records and policies, but saying
that you would never vote for them is dishonest brinkmanship.

It's akin to saying "Skinner, change the graphics here or I'll leave Democratic Underground". Smarter move: just ask Skinner to change the graphics and offer suggestions.

3. IMO, focus on A Democratic Congress FIRST. The Supreme Court is not going to get any better
with a triangulating President, either party stripe.

10. Agreed, but it will be the president who will choose the justices
and based on the Congress we have had for the last 7 years I don't trust them. They would probably confirm an extreme right wing individual from the Federalist Society. Oh, wait, that is what they have been doing

8. That was the general message at our local Democratic club meeting
We were only discussing local candidates, but we got the chance to go face to face and ask the important questions. If the same were true on national elections ,we might get better candidates.

9. I plan to vote for Democratic Candidate, be it HRC, OBAMA
EDWARDS or ANY OF the LOWER TIER should someone pull an
upset.

In the meantime, Social Justice and Working Class Issues
will occupy my time. The DEMS need to get to their Roots.

11. This is why winning in 08 is vital: SCOTUS! SCOTUS! SCOTUS! SCOTUS! SCOTUS.
The Christofascists are one seat away from controlling the Supreme Court. WE MUST NOT LET ANOTHER FUCKING SCALIA CLONE GET ON THE DAMN BENCH. If the Dem candidate is a yellow dog I'm going to be voting for that damn yellow dog, there is no fucking excuse for voting third party, the stakes are too fucking high to vote for a spoiler like Nader as a "protest vote." Any left-winger in this country that stays home or votes for an independent are complicit with the fucking of this country.

VOTE AND VOTE DEMOCRATIC IN '08, DAMN IT!!!
