Anyone know anything about this Bilderberg group? |
|
This is from Wikipedia so who knows?
The Bilderberg Group or Bilderberg conference is an unofficial annual invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of business, media, and "politics".
The location of their annual meeting is not secret, but the public and press are strictly kept at distance by police force and private security guards so the group can work their agenda. Although the agenda and list of participants are openly available to the public, it is not clear that such details are disclosed by the group itself. Also, the contents of the meetings are kept secret and attendees pledge not to divulge what was discussed. The group's stated justification for secrecy is that it enables people to speak freely without the need to carefully consider how every word might be interpreted by the mass media.

4. I had never heard anything about it at all, you would think... |
|
it would at least be mentioned on the news, not what they were doing but something about it. It says its been going on since the 50's. I don't know if its accurate but Edwards isn't alone, of the current candidates, they list Clinton, Dodd and Richardson as past attendees. That is pretty strange when certain leaders in business, media and politics are having secret meetings that no one knows about and they pledge to not talk about it? I mean, couldn't they at least comment on the positive things of the meeting?

5. Which makes me wonder if the evil, conspiracy, one world order charges |
|
are really accurate.
It's like hearing about the Trilateral Commission being devil worshipers or something, when Jimmy Carter was a member in good standing.
I don't automatically dismiss these stories, but I don't automatically but into them, either.

6. Its just strange that its exists but its not talked about? |
|
Also why do they invite leaders of the media if they are not allowed to talk about it, is it just a way to for them to talk about the control of the media? I cant believe its been in existence this long and its stayed hidden this long, you would thik with that many top players being involved, we would hear something?

11. It hasn't been kept a secret, there just hasn't been much interest in it other than |
|
those who feel it may be nefarious in its intent.
It's definitely the rich movers and shakers who are invited, but knowing that John Edwards and Melinda Gates have attended leads me to believe whatever they talk about is probably mostly benign. I trust Edwards and Melinda Gates both.

12. I wonder if any Edwards, Dodd, Clinton or Richardson supporters... |

could ask their candidate or a their website what it is since they have been there. Not what they talked about, just what it is.

The group's been around for a while. "The Spotlight" (a Larouche publication a RW acquaintance of mine used to get in the late '70s) was always rattling on about the Bilderbergers and the Trilateral Commission, and whenever the spotlight fell on either group, my acquaintance would also rattle on about them.
(When the Spotlight's spotlight was elsewhere, hollow earth, water-to-gasoline tablets, and the Bohemian Grove figured prominently in this guy's conversation.)
There are books available--ok, maybe "there were books available" is more accurate--engaging in lengthy, fact-diluted exposes and available from not always very "progressive" sources.

16. I watched an ineresting and rather upfront documentary on them |
|
It followed a British journalist trying to get the bottom of the whole thing.
Long story short, these are the very powerful from politics, business and the media, meeting up and having little round tables about what they think would be best for the world, yadda, yadda.
In that it is in secret, and includes elected officials from democratic countries, it is not really kosher. And there definitely are discussions about what should be done about issues that should not be held in secret and positions on international affairs put forward that are discussed.
However. The last time they got leaks from what was going on in there, the consensus was that Bush sucked and the war had to stop. Take that for what you will.
