Why does Hillary exist? She never would have been senator without being married to a president. And she certainly wouldn't be running for president if she wasn't married to Bill. her only qualification for being president is her last name.

63. Here's a bit:
Edited on Tue Oct-16-07 01:09 PM by Lirwin2
This is just a bit from wikipedia, if you deny the factual accuracy of anything posted, tell me what, and I'll find a more reliable source:

"During her post-graduate study, Rodham served as staff attorney for Edelman's newly-founded Children's Defense Fund in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and as a consultant to the Carnegie Council on Children. During 1974 she was a member of the impeachment inquiry staff in Washington, D.C., advising the House Committee on the Judiciary during the Watergate scandal. Under the guidance of Chief Counsel John Doar and senior member Bernard Nussbaum, Rodham helped research procedures of impeachment and the historical grounds and standards for impeachment. The committee's work culminated in the resignation of President Richard Nixon in August 1974.

By then, Rodham was viewed as someone with a bright political future; Democratic political organizer and consultant Betsey Wright had moved from Texas to Washington the previous year to help guide her career; Wright thought Rodham had the potential to one day become a Senator or President. Meanwhile, Clinton had repeatedly asked her to marry him, and she had continued to defer. However, helped by her having passed the Arkansas but not the District of Columbia bar exam on her first attempt, Rodham came to a key decision. As she later wrote, "I chose to follow my heart instead of my head."She thus followed Bill Clinton to Arkansas, rather than staying in Washington where career prospects were best. Clinton was at the time teaching law and running for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in his home state. In August 1974, she moved to Fayetteville, Arkansas, and became one of two female faculty members at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville School of Law, where Bill Clinton also taught. Even then, she still harbored doubts about marriage, concerned that her separate identity would be lost and her accomplishments would be viewed in the light of someone else's accomplishments."

15. I like the first commment in response to the (slanted opinion) piece
This article just shows that the right is more afraid of an Obama nomination than they are of a Clinton nomination. The fact is Obama did get government reform passed in IL, against the wishes of most in both parties. Why? Because, he was able to appeal to their sense of doing the right thing. IL has always been the most corrupt government and to get anything like this passed was a real testiment to his dogged pursuit of it. I believe if he can bring about change in Springfield he could do it in Washington. That is perhaps the scariest scenario to the establishment in Washington, including Hillary. As I sit here at work I'm reviewing a case that has lead to a veteran of our armed forces (currently with private insurance) having his badly needed healthcare delayed for over a year due to insurance bureaucratic stalling on this. The man is now suicidal as a result of the extreme pain he is in. Unconscionable. I'm for universal healthcare as a humanitarian issue. I'm for real change. I'm for Obama.

I've got to hand it to Dan Proft, a leader of IllinoisLeader.com, a GOP consultant and a movement conservative. Getting Alan Keyes is a triumph for him. That's why he moved to Calumet City -- because Dan Proft was the operative behind the successful GOP sweep of the city government in 2003. If you want to see how the Keyes campaign is going to be run, read up on Dan Proft's old columns. I've been on Beyond the Beltway with him and he's a good guy, so congratulations to Dan.

42. For however little substance Obama has, at least he's honest.
HRC isn't.

The biggest charade of this election season is HRC. The claims that she is "experienced" are almost as laughable as the claims she is "liberal".

She is neither. One term in the Senate hardly qualifies one as "experienced". And she had better not be counting her time married to the former President as part of that "experience".

And we won't even mention that her limited experience includes her making some highly flawed votes, votes she she has not expressed regret for.

To refer to her time in the Senate as "undistinguished" would be kind.

And since she has ZERO core beliefs, who knows what we'll get if she ends up president. I'm betting on a Lieberman-style, AIPAC-dependent "centrist".
