What is a "Military Conservative"? |
|
I'm hearing the phrase used often by several of the GOP candidates, but they never explain what it means.
Taken literally it SHOULD mean that the candidate is "conservative about using the military", but I think it's supposed to mean, "Lots more war against defenseless countries and brown people in the Middle East".
I just want to know when the dictionary is going to change the definition of "Conservative", because it doesn't mean what it used to mean. Not even close.

1. Well, look at what it used to mean... |
|
of all the things it used to mean (fiscal discipline, avoidance of foreign entanglements, etc.) there is only one plank left that the modern GOP has in common -- massive defense budgets. So, a military conservatism, in my humble opinion, is one who is for DoD-first, massive Pentagon budgets, etc.

9. So it basically means "war profiteer".. |
|
I still can't figure out why the candidates label themselves this way. It's like saying "I'm in the Mafia, vote for me!".

2. I'm a "Military Liberal" of the retired brand, let me take a shot |
|
Military Conservative, one who blindly follows the rantings of a lunatic commander in chief, and is sadly used by the right wing disinformation machine to advance their agenda merely because said citizens are in uniform.
Conundrum for right wing dumbasses because all in uniform aren't "Military conservatives" (majority are not) ergo right wing trash trip over their collective pencil dicks and unwashed vaginas when advocating supporting the troops.

4. I believe it has all the meaning of "compassionate conservative" |
|
I also believe it's wordplay to instill or reinforce a perception that the military leans toward the Republican. I believe they are becoming afraid that the corporate media brain washing of Republicans being strong on defense is wearing off.
