Would a white guy who was elected President of the Harvard |
|
Law Review, a civil rights attorney, dedicated community activist, constitutional law professor, effective state legislator and who had a solid, albeit brief, tenure in the Senate be repeatedly accused of being an 'empty suit?'
Also, has anyone with real accomplishments accused Barack Obama of being an 'empty suit,' or are they all just a bunch of pathetic losers and Freepers?

3. Yeah, there is a lot of subtle racism |

going on when it comes to Obama and it isn't all coming from Republicans.

4. Some of it not that subtle. |
|
And it's counter-intellectual too: obviously the first black president of the Harvard Law Review would have to smarter and harder-working than the average white contender to get the job, right?

6. That's the old joke: What do you call a black man who went to Harvard? |
|
Answer: A N!gg@r.
Sad to see some people who claim to be Democrats clinging to that attitude.

7. A lot of it is going on here |
|
What's sad is that some here don't even realize they are doing it. Some one here had the nerve to say that Obama needs to be replaced with Harold Ford because Harold Ford is more intelligent. Harold Ford flunked the bar and got caught claiming he was a lawyer during his Senate campaign.
I think many people are surprised by how well he's doing and many Clinton supporters are threatend by him and that's why they say some of the insulting things about him.
What many don't realize is that this could backfire. If some African Americans perceived that most of this criticism is racist it would cause some to rally around Obama.

5. Anyone who calls Barack Obama an "empty suit" is projecting |

They are talking about themselves. Just ignore it. The "empty suit" talk is not worth listening to.

8. That "not enough experience" meme has always rang hollow for me with regard to Obama for President. |

10. If he only had two years of experience in the federal government and was running for President, |
|
yes, probably. Politicians will always attack their opponents, and supporters of politicians will do the same. John Edwards and Bill Clinton both had to deal with the "inexperienced" attack.

11. Obama's curriculum vitae is nothing to sneeze at. |
|
I think it's rabid partisanship with a touch of racism that fuels such nastiness toward him.
