Predict the nominees for President and Vice-President
Edited on Sat Oct-20-07 09:46 AM by jefferson_dem
For both parties. I'll bookmark this thread so we can see how everybody did...after the dust settles.

My prediction: Hillary/Obama vs. Ghouliani/Huckleberry

1. Ghouliani/Huckleberry and Hillary/some white male with combat experience
I don't name the Dem. V.P. because it's possible that I don't even know him. But it COULD be Jim Webb or someone like him.

14. You nailed it on the Republican ticket! For the Democrats, I'm thinking Edwards/Obama (or flip the
order if Obama comes in ahead of Edwards in Iowa). It seems as if Obama and Edwards have more in common in terms of policy, and Obama adds hope plus rock star glamour to an Edwards ticket and Edwards adds rural and purple state appeal to an Obama ticket.

17. Actually ,right after I typed it I regretted
that I didn't just write: Democrat/Democrat vs. Loser/Loser. THAT would be good enough for me. They're all giants in comparison to the muck from the other side.

5. Of the current candidates...
I'm going to call the nomination for Biden or Obama...
Biden running mate/Obama or Hillary
Obama running mate/ Hillary or possibly Jim Webb, maybe Feingold.

This is a good question...and hard.

Of course if Gore declares, It will I believe he will be the nominee.

On the repuke side, I think you nailed it.

7. Clinton/Bayh vs Guiliani/Boehner
Republicans seem to have a history of running obscure congressmen (or former congressmen) for veep ( Cheney, Kemp,Quayle, Miller etc.)

Spellcheck advised me to change Boehner's name to Boner.

9. Optimistic Zeemike says Gore and Obama/Edwards
Against ...it don't matter
Pessimistic Zeemike says HRC and Bidden/Dodd against Huckabee and an unknown but Gulieoni will not be in the mix at all. He his just a red hearing for Hillery to run against n the primary.

13. I'm still hoping Obama makes it to the top of the ticket, though.
He's better qualified than her to bring the change we so desperately need.

Honestly, other than Clinton on the Democratic side, I don't have any strong sense about the other guys. I just chose Romney and JEB! since they are the biggest(?) scumbags...unless someone wants to dredge up Tom Delay or Newt.

29. They need someone to help counteract...
The fact that the Dems will probably have a woman on their ticket...

I believe if Hillary is the nominee there is going to generate an awful lot of excitement among women...and I think Mark Penn is at least partially right...moderate, professional Republican women are going to be very tempted to vote for Hillary...

The best way for the Republicans to counteract that is to provide a break through candidate of their own...
