Obama Problem. His message resonates more with |
|
with the middle american in swing states but less with an angry base, while Hillary appeals more to the Democratic Base but not as musch to Middle America.
So basically Obama probably has a better shot at a landslide general election win with his message of reconciliation. Diriving monumentally high Afican-AMerican Turnout in the SOuth whil conservative evangelicals have no one to come home to,
WHile HIllary has a better shot at nomination by acclamation but would likely not get a landslide win in Novemeber because the GOP base would rally to defeat her at all cost. So it migh just come down to Ohio and Missouri and maybe Virgina in the Fall campaign.
Is Obama too Green...Maybe... but no less green then Rudy, Mitt or Thompson.

1. Why does Sen. Clinton appeal to the Dem base |

5. I'm not sure she DOES appeal to the Dem base. Certainly she has some support there, but |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-20-07 06:20 PM by peacebird
she also has Dems who will refuse to vote for her because of her IWR and Kyl/Lieberman votes (among other things)

3. That wouldn't really seem to be a problem. |
|
Much of the Democratic base will vote for the nominee, regardless of who it is. So, appealing to non-Democratic-base voters could be key.

6. Obama's support is really interesting. |

It covers a swath of amazingly diverse people.
On edit: However, I don't quite see how that is a "problem."

10. And that's why the GOP wants her to be our nominee. |

Some people still don't see that, though.

11. Perky has an interesting take on this. But, I would ask those who think Obama too green: |
|
Exactly what actually prepares anyone for the office of president? nothing really. I think the job requires an even hand, good judgment and temperment and the ability to work with all personalities to get things actually done. If you have good advisors and professionals in various areas, the rest takes care of itself.

12. Hillary is the only one running like she's done this all before |
|
All the other candidates look green compared to her. It ain't just Obama, who is doing much better than a lot of people expected.

And now the latest story is about how she's been getting large contributions from non-existent people or names with non-existing addresses from people in China Town. Didn't this same type of scandal happen with the Clintons in Bill's day? Back to the future. Time for change.

16. Obama has NO problem. We voting Dem suckers have a problem. |
|
We're in danger of falling for the Lollipop Gag from the DLC once more, and getting Giuliani or Romney elected. "When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?"
HRC may have the poodle and lemming wings of the Dem party working for her.
BUT OBAMA HAS THE SMART, THE PASSIONATE, THE OVER-HOT-COALS INSPIRED FOLKS who have waited TOO LONG. While I have pragmatic respect for the "machine" politic, this time their figure-head is TOO OFFENSIVE. No more bushes. No more clintons. No more power dynasties. No more narcissistic sellouts. ENOUGH. Period.

17. Obama has a better chance because he is the one who is pulling people |
|
back to the party. People are signing up as Dems just to make sure they can vote for him. He will do well.
