2. Bringing out the truth is really the mission.......
Kerry is as what Kerry does. Edwards definitely has "Integrity".

6. Until he becomes THE NOMINEE it is okay, up until then
even Dean was a potential nominee coming out of New Hampshire and was still taking flak.

As I was told so often in the early days, toughen up. Kerry should have rec'd this scrutiny before but didn't.

7. Dean is still getting flak today!
Also, gotta love confident statements like "Edwards will have his two week run."

They're like the DU kiss of death.

8. No there isn't
When Clark and Dean were the hot items, they got shredded more fiercely than anything I've seen recently.

Why should Edwards and Kerry get a pass just because they were late to the front-runners' party?

You say the unity point is fast approaching, so you acknowledge that we have not reached it. Until we do, I say sharpen those knives and let's see who's left standing.

9. I agree, Pete -some folks want another 3 weeks and I do not
Edited on Thu Feb-19-04 05:38 PM by papau
have a problem with that - indeed the practice will be good prep for the GE.

But the gutter attacks by Dem on Dem only serve the GOP purpose.

Let's fight issues, or likeability, or stump speech getting crowd going, or mastery of facts and policy, or looks, or whatever floats our boat - but we need to stay out of the gutter.

And in 3 weeks, ABB has to be the rule - my grandkids need ABB too much for us to blow it with dirt throwing at each other.

If dirt is too much fun, posting about Bush/Lowman abortion, or 72 community service for unknown reason - but perhaps same reason he stopped with the physical (judge said no more flying until we are sure you are cocaine free?) and went AWOL is great dirt to play with.

Or Laura killing her boyfriend and somehow not being tested for booze breath after the accident.

Or just discuss some of the 300 BUSH lies that Swinney has recorded and posted at DU at a right wing board!

10. I will miss all the smear posts against Kerry once the nomination
is final and he becomes our choice to beat Dimson in November. :-)

13. Yeah. Dissent is unamerican.
Just ask George Bush.

Let's just have a Kerry Love-Fest and admire his courage and conviction in getting this country in the biggest, most expensive, most idiotic, most addle brained invasion/occupation in the history of the world, with the possible exception of Napoleon's attempt to take Russia.

And please, don't cut and paste any more shit about how he was "against" the war. I got his fucking canned email the day he voted for it.

15. I hear you, Pete
I don't feel like wasting all my energy fighting with other DEMS/DUers anymore over candidates and their positions on issues. I am ready to rally around the likely nominee (Kerry) against Bush now and have no desire to postpone what seems inevitable to me. NSMA's posts have pretty much convinced me also. For its time to fight the real enemy at hand. I only speak for myself.

17. The fact is that Kerry does not excite much excitement here
The evidence is everywhere.

Sorry, but for all the bashing and trashing that has gone on, what we are left with is a race between a couiple of bores over who is the most "Electable."

It stinks, and all the protestations in the world won't make it any better.
