Politics of Hope
My response to the the Clinton mantra, "what happened to the politics of hope?":

The politics of hope includes telling people what you think and where you stand.
The politics of hopes includes having a vision for where you want the country to go.
The politics of hope includes Independents and Republicans, not just Democrats.
The politics of hope includes increasing participation in our political process.
The politics of hope includes leadership, not triangulation.
The politics of hope includes inspiration, not the "safe answer".
The politics of hope includes making differences between candidates, both policy and personal, crystal clear to voters.

So, as my young students would say:

Word up Senator Clinton,
this is what the Politics of hope looks like,
get over it.

29. The above referenced Tom Coburn as some kind of slap to Obama.
Edited on Sun Oct-28-07 03:08 PM by NYCGirl
I mentioned they co-sponsored a bill together, a damn good one at that. Whether Tom Coburn is a Republican, bigot, or whatever has no bearing on Obama's "relationship" with Tom Coburn.

Edited for typo

12. The end of fear, the beginning of hope.
The '04 Kucinich campaign.

I've noticed that several candidates now pepper their rhetoric with "hope."

Which is good and appropriate, if they really offer hope. I hear more rhetoric than hope from some.

Frankly, I don't think he'll get the nomination this time, but he has a great vision. Maybe someday hihs time will come. He is a great asset to the Party and to America.

33. Hillary's "hope" is that she doesn't get caught trying to sell her bullshit
to the american people but it time to expose her for what she is, a calculating, inexperienced, pandering, say anything, do anything politician to fool the american people for their support. And you know the sad part is, she has Billy Boy as her sidekick in this despicable drama. Barack Obama, the time is right now to turn up the volume on "Queen Bee" and as any property owner would command his canine with trespassers, Go Sic Em!!!:nuke:

36. Politics of "hope you quit being a homo and start loving Jesus"
Big mess. Big mess of playing the race card and the religion card at the same time. Callousness. Duplicity. Tone-deafness. Incredulous incredulity.

I don't think he can recover from this one.

I don't think he deserves to recover from this one.

Or is letting supporters accuse them all of just being shills for other candidates enough?

Allow McCurkin to tell an audience, which statistically is bound to have some young GLBT members in it, that God hates homosexuality.

Politics of Hope replaced by Politics of Self-Hatred.

43. The Politics of New Hope
The politics of hope includes telling people what they want to hear
The politics of hopes includes having a vision of a glorious idyllic future
The politics of hope includes compromising a firm agenda to Independent and Republicans policy
The politics of hope includes increasing participation in political contributions.
The politics of hope includes leadership, not correcting mistakes
The politics of hope includes inspiration, not achievable goals
The politics of hope includes crystal clear wedging wherever possible.

And yes, all the candidates have strayed into New Hope all the time.
