Oil just passed $93.00 a barrel, and the dollar drops against the Euro to an all-time low.

Bush and friends are businessmen, and they have jacked the system.

They tend to tread lightly when up for re-election. And then again, you have to consider that even if they got the votes for something to help reverse that trend bush would veto it and the repugnants in congress would never join in because alot of them are investors in oil, and they like to play partisan politics (see SCHIP bill)
