got this e-mail from Barbara Boxer............ |
|
This year is going to be a campaign season like no other.
The right-wing is planning an assault on Democrats with the kind of energy and force we wish they'd use to get our troops out of Iraq, combat global warming, and ensure children have a safe place to go after school. But, they are focused on taking cheap shots at Democrats.
We need to stand up to it now, before they launch their unfounded smear campaigns.
Contribute before MIDNIGHT on Nov. 6th and House Democrats will match your gift 2-to-1 -- tripling your impact on key races.
I can tell you firsthand that supporting the DCCC makes a real difference to candidates. I served in the Congress for 10 years before running for Senate. In every race, the DCCC mobilized the people of my state to pull the lever for Democrats on Election Day, and it helped us win.
Supporting the DCCC helps all of us, because it puts funding into districts across the country -- mobilizing support for Democrats running for the U.S. House of Representatives.
Contribute to the 365 Days to Victory Matching Gift Campaign and House Democrats will MATCH and DOUBLE your gift.
Your support will allow the DCCC to protect Democrats in the line of fire -- particularly the freshmen members who gave us our majority in 2006. Republicans are prepared to use any tactic to get these seats back and reverse the changes that we are pushing.
There is no time to waste. Early money is critical to victory. Your support will help Democrats achieve the victories we need to move America forward.
Sincerely,
Senator Barbara Boxer
P.S. I know firsthand how important the DCCC can be to a Democrat running for a House seat. Now as a U.S. Senator, I feel buoyed by the support the DCCC provides to candidates in my state. Your support of the DCCC will make a difference to all of us. Please help strengthen our House majority so we can move America in the direction you and your family deserve!
So, I just sent some cash..... :patriot: :patriot: :patriot:

3. Nope and with due respect to Barbara as I'm a member of her PAC. |
|
But I will not give to the DCCC while we presently have in my estimation, the worst House I can remember that we actually control. A most pathetic job. Way too much Rahm Emanuel influence. I contribute to various democratic candidates, amnesty international, Barbara's PAC, John Conyers, and UNA-USA.

6. I love boxer, but not a penny of mine is going to the dccc. And today Schumer, |
|
the head of the dccc, completely fucked the whole country by forcing Bush's lackey down our throats, is not the best day to be asking.
But hey, as someone else here said, I would donate gladly to get rid of Feinstein.

8. "We need to stand up to it now..." |
|
You don't just need money to stand up to for yourselves and your constituents, Senator Boxer. You and your fellow Congressional representatives need to find your collective spines to do that.
"The right-wing is planning an assault on Democrats with the kind of energy and force we wish they'd use to get our troops out of Iraq, combat global warming, and ensure children have a safe place to go after school."
Would that be the same kind of energy and force we wish you were all using right now on the Hill to stand against perpetual war, immoral torture, lawless mercenaries, government corruption and cronyism, no-bid contracts, war profiteering and fiscal mismanagement, and election tampering?
Why should Dems continue to contribute to campaign coffers to elect more of the same softies who keep rolling over every time the Repubs say 'boo'? Answer me that, Senator.
Sorry, a kennedy. I just had to say it.

10. Yes Ms. Boxer, "we" do need to stand up to the GOP |
|
I was marching in Seattle last weekend; what were you doing? Did you talk to the other Senator from your state at all?
I was given the undivided hairy eye-ball attention of some of Seattle's finest; what were you doing? Did you urge your colleagues to stand up against torture?
This is a piss-poor time to coming around to me with your hat in hand, looking for money. Maybe you could waterboard some folks into giving you money? I've heard that it's not torture, so what the hey?
