I have this awful feeling Cheney will be the next POTUS. The worse the geo political scene gets, |
|
the more I feel the powers behind the scene will send * to the showers and bring in Cheney. Sometime between now and their convention, Bush will quit.

First of all, I don't think the PTB would throw the little guy under the bus. He's doing a great job for THEM...war, chaos, disaster capitalism, $$$$. Read Naomi Klein.
As to Cheney...he doesn't have the charisma that Bush has. In terms of the brain-dead base, that is. I think some of the Repug women are sexually attracted to Bush. Hard to envision that scenario with Darth.
I know, I know....now I gotta take a shower. Ugh!! :puke:

Let's say Bush quit tomorrow and Cheney became President (I mean officially). He's not likeable. The 26% wouldn't support him like they do Bush. Like somebody said, downthread, about Bush being the person his base would like to have a beer with. Nobody wants to have a beer with Cheney.
Sure, Bush throws red meat to the Fundies in terms of the so-called "family values" issues, but it's also about charisma. Don't get me wrong...I'm revolted by the both of them, but I think Bush speaks to something primal with these people.
If Cheney were the public face, instead of doing his dirty work behind the scenes...given his demeanor and voice? Umm..I don't think so.

43. Yes, in the real world |
|
Bush has the charisma of a rock. But we're not talking about "real world" here.
I don't seem to be communicating my point very well. I can't stand to watch him because I know what psychopathy looks like, and I see it in him,(among other things) and it turns my stomach. He should be in a restricted environment, not running around with his finger on the nuclear trigger.
That being said, I have asked myself what in holy hell the 28% see in him. I don't think it can be reduced to one single factor, but I think he holds some sort of fascination for them .
Bush is the public face of the evil that infests our government. If Cheney were made President, by whatever means, he would be the public face of the evil. As such, it's just my sense that he wouldn't engender the same loyalty.

are psycopaths...
I get nauseous when I see/hear the clod as well...as for cheney, he simply exudes evil, it drips from him...x( I cannot understand why either of them have any support at all, (cheney is at 16%).
Just shows me that there are some people out there that would vote for/support satan's flatulence if they thought they could "gain" from such support. For all of the "morality" his supporters claim faith to, it is the very immorality of these people that scare the hell out of the rest of us with some sense...:scared:

|
He has a pattern to support that. If he's nothing he's dogged. He won't quit. His ego is just one of the reasons. Cheney will live out the rest of his short life a hateful, ultra-conservative, hateful, millionaire destined to be remembered as the most powerful and most destructive Vice-President in our nation's history. He'll be leaving a miserable legacy.

Clue: bush will be gone on January 20th, 2009.

21. Well, duh. When he's gone 1/20/09 it will be because his term is up. |
|
Not because he's stepping down due to some inability to handle the pressure. I'm not quite sure what "worhty of a Duzy" means, but perhaps whatever it means you should apply it to yourself. I'm confident enough to place a wager on the position that Bush will remain in office until his term expires (impeachment not withstanding). Care to take me up on it? Let's try something more practical, give us a link to one of your "many pundits" who think Bush will quit his presidency before his term expires. You say there are many, I'm asking for just one.

My support for Pelosi is quickly fading and that one of the big reasons, but not the only one. Bush continues to stick it to the Democrats every opportunity he gets, but the Democrats refuse to even start investigation proceedings on Bush/Cheney. I must say, I just don't get it.

So I don't think that your fears could get much worse anyway.... The bigger fear that I have is that one of these Repug. candidates.... (should they figure out a way to steal 08) would nominate Cheney as there running mate... Holly sheep shit, that would be Devastating indeed.

I don't think they'd ever let Cheney in. They know he's hated. They'd want to get him gone, too and replace both with someone "likeable". (Remember all the talk about Bush and what a great guy he is to have a beer with? That sort of nonsense).
Cheney knows he's in his best possible spot as the guy with his hand up Bush's butt, manipulating the puppet.

I find your theory interesting, and it could have some merit.
After all, the neocons/PNACers are the ones steering the ship. They selected George to be their "electable" yip dog who could jump through the hoops and get the American people to like him.
George Bush was never a PNACer. He never signed off on any of the famous PNAC letters. There's a whole list of PNACers, including Jeb Bush--but George was never in the club.
My guess is that his petulance and failures left him cast aside and out of the big-boy clubs. However, when they needed a pretty face on their ugly agenda---they knew that Georgie would be the boy that American would want to have a beer with.
I believe he's served them well. However, I don't believe that he calls the shots. Not at all. There are Republican stalwart neocons who control it all. George Schulz, Poppy, Kissinger, Cheney etc. Junior is just a puppet.
I also believe that he's expendable. I think the neocon wet dream is to have Cheney as pResident.
I wouldn't put anything past these thugs.
