I read in another DU thread (so it HAS to be TRUE :)) that Mrs Scaife and Mrs Heinz-Kerry have mutual interests in some charities.
Maybe Mrs Scaife is a liberal Democrat? Maybe Mr Scaife pissed her off one night so she wrote a check to Kerry? Maybe its all one big conspiracy that is so dumb they write checks to each other that are open to public scrutiny?

how interesting that she did give $2,000 to WISH List. Isn't that the Republican sorry answer to Emily's List?
(Emily's List works to get pro-choice women elected)

I don't know this family. It seems they routinely give money to Republicans. And at least one homemaker in the family decided that Kerry was worthy of support.
Perhaps it was an awakening.
A serious possibility is that Mrs. Scaife prefers John Kerry's positions on education to those of Mr. Bush. Perhaps she likes his foreign policy credentials. Or his economic policies. If Mrs. Scaife wants to join ranks with the AFL-CIO and the League of Conservation Voters and the whole panoply of liberal interest groups that are lining up against George Bush, and coalescing behind John Kerry, then we should welcome her.
(Hi, Mrs. Scaife. Welcome to the Party).

http://www.nizkor.org/features/fallacies/You think that 1+1=2. But, Adolf Hitler, Charles Manson, Joseph Stalin, and Ted Bundy all believed that 1+1=2. So, you shouldn't believe it.

17. Richard Mellon Scaife |
|
bankrolled the Republican's in their 8 year attack on the Clinton administration. He was instrumental in funding the investigations in Arkansas where he set up Republican slime to dig up dirt on the Clintons. He spent millions of dollars to destroy Bill and Hillary. The Scaifes do not love the Democratic Party. Trust me.

16. Mrs H-Kerry and Mrs M-Scaife are friends |
|
Both are married into very prominent Pittsburgh families, do a lot for local charities, share some common interests, and are said to be friends.
Teresa is also friends with Paul O'Neill. She also socializes with Dick Scaife -- might (gulp!) even be a friend of his.
Damned decent of Mrs Mellon Scaife to support Senator Kerry's bid for the Democratic candidacy! In honor of this graciousness, from now on, I will pick up my dog's poopoo from Scaife's yard when she shits in it.
