Are we finally seeing a few rams among the sheep?

Democratic Party leadership/sheep that is.

Or at least a few strong ewes?

If so then thank yourself for your letters and pressure upon the seemingly spineless, rudderless Dem leaders in the Senate & House.

WASHINGTON - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Tuesday that Democrats won't approve more money for the Iraq war this year unless President Bush agrees to begin bringing troops home.

By the end of the week, the House and Senate planned to vote on a $50 billion measure for operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. The bill would require Bush to initiate troop withdrawals immediately with the goal of ending combat by December 2008.

If Bush vetoes the bill, "then the president won't get his $50 billion," Reid, D-Nev., told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., made a similar statement last week in a closed-door caucus meeting.

3. He pulls his punches far too often to be a leader.
And I want to believe in him, but he's SO acting the puppet for the Dem powerstructure that has long supported BOTH Bushes and their foreign policy goals.

2. Not Among the Heavies
Edited on Tue Nov-13-07 01:38 PM by Rabo Karabekian
Well we're certainly not seeing it among the presidential candidates. Only Edwards, Kucinich, and Gravel have a clue as to what's happening to everyday people in this country.

4. Aren't they required by law to start rotating home next month anyway?
Yes, we'll stand up and demand the obvious, and declare victory.

5. "We'll give you the money but-
You have to be home by 2am and kill 1% fewer people." Bullshit.

6. You may love the meme. But it just ain't so.
"President Bush's success rating in the Democratic-controlled House has fallen this year to a half-century low, and he prevailed on only 14 percent of the 76 roll call votes on which he took a clear position.

"So far this year, Democrats have backed the majority position of their caucus 91 percent of the time on average on such votes. That marks the highest Democratic unity score in 51 years."

Don't let the media rhetoric fool you. The Democrats have acquitted themselves quite well--especially given their bare majority in both houses, and a relentlessly obstructionist Republican minority.

8. "Rams among the sheep"?
Bad metaphor.

You know what happens to the ewes. Are you really saying that?
