My fantasy scenario: A debate with *, Kerry or Edwards, Nader, and Moore |
|
I don't want Nader to run, but it wouldn't bother me as much if someone like Roy Moore or Pat Buchanan ran. I would love to see a 4-way debate between the candidates of the mainstream left and right, and the candidates of the far left and far right. As much as 3rd parties are bothersome, it would forse Kerry (or Edwards) and * to debate the merits of liberalism and conservatism. Intellectually it would be interesting.

1. Is Roy Moore thinking of running? |
|
Would it be with the Constitution Party?

2. Hmm, it might not be a fantasy, * might insist on Nader |

Hmm, it might not be a fantasy, * might insist on Nader.
Why not? Kerry and especially edwards are better debaters than * He would probably enjoy hearing Nader criticizing the Democratic nominee as a tool of the special interests.

But it'd be a trade-off. No Green vs Dem attacks during the debate - only attacks on Bush.
Everyone wins with this set-up: Nader gets exposure. The Democrat gets added firepower and looks more moderate. The public sees two or three other candidates attacking Bush.
Of course, this is assuming that Nader can be trusted..?
edit: This is the first time I've entertained this idea, so I'm still thinking it out in my mind. Is it a good idea?
