GOP Debate- not one question about healthcare, the environment, civil rights-I worry about 2008
OK, I didn't watch the whole thing so maybe I missed these topics but it seems to me the repukes want to make this next election all about "illegal immigration," "fighting terrorism" and apparantly getting rid of the IRS?!?!

We can't let these be the issues. I'm afraid the issues that truely matter and will win over most americans to our side will be ignored by the media.

What can we do?

2. If it is about those things, I don't know how Huckabee would win.
If it is all about having a president that believes Jesus rode dinosaurs, he is a sure thing.

3. It might be a good thing that the Pukes are ignoring the issues people care most about.
I'm getting the feeling lately that lots of Republicans are almost as fed up with the GOP as we are.

5. OF COURSE they want the immigration thing to dominate.
That, gay rights, guns, terror, abortion and the War on Christmas are all they have to go on. They have no intention about doing anything useful with regard to health care, the environment, or the economy.

6. I loved when Ron Paul talked about the $$$ needed to fix our infrastructure
then in the same breath also talked about getting rid of the IRS. So, where is the money coming from, dude?

11. Ron Paul is an interesting case
Of a Conservative/Libertarian trying to think sanely. The result is neither good nor Progressive.

7. It's like two different nations are having different elections...

I've watched this for a while. The issues that the GOP is running on touch the Democratic issues in only a few places. Its is close to surreal.

It seems to show the reported red state/blue state divide in the most stark terms. Red's and Blue's are so divided, by the evidence of the questions, that they are not even discussing the same issues. When the do touch issues, they are diametrically opposed.

I can't wait for the General election when everybody at least has to discuss the others sides agenda.

12. It sure seemed like the CANDIDATES chose the ones they wanted
to answer ... or the people who responded on YouTube just asked the typical Rethug types of questions. Even at its most pandering and spineless, I can't believe CNN wanted a debate without any mention of really relevant issues.
