Hillary & Obama supporters...
Edited on Thu Nov-29-07 04:54 PM by 1corona4u
I just heard on MSNBC, that Obama has said that, if elected, he would offer Al Gore, and Bill Clinton jobs in the admin. There's no link to it yet, but I think Time Mag. had spoken to this as well. I have to wonder what this will do to both candidates? I wonder if Obama saying he would offer Bill a job, will be seen as an asset, or a liability in the campaign?

2. Anybody would
Bill Clinton and Al Gore, along with any number of other talented Democrats, would be tremendous assets to any Democratic administration. Obama coming straight out and acknowledging what everybody knows doesn't do him damage, in my opinion. It's to his credit that he is forthright and unafraid.

Why would you single out Bill here? He is more popular among Dems and the electorate at large than Gore is.

6. But, the real questions is,
does it affect Hillary at all? I mean, let's say that there are people out there, that like Bill, are indifferent about Hillary, but now think they could have Bill in the Obama deal, which way would they go?

13. I think people who want Bill go to Hillary
Naturally. Obama saying he'd take Bill given the opportunity doesn't hurt Hillary.

8. I singled him out...
because of the recent comments....about him lying. We all know Gore would be an asset. I'm just asking a simple question, not pointing the finger at anyone. No need to get defensive....

22. hold on a second
Saying he lied is a matter of opinion. Given the facts, he made anti-war remarks before he ever said anything that would give the impression he was for it.

24. Bill Clinton more popular than Al Gore?
Do you have a link for that? Ive never seen any indication of one way or the other. Just curious.

9. Could be...
but it would round out his resume as they mentioned on the report.

They were saying that it's a good idea because he needs to round out his resume, and what better way to do it? It's interesting to mention Bill Clinton though, sort of stirs the pot a bit!

11. Barack is a glutton for punishment... why create a situation where the media will ask
Bill whether he will serve in Obama's White House?

It's Madeline Albright all over again.

Obama's a lawyer and should know that you don't elicit responses when you don't know what they'll be.

I doubt Bill would use the opportunity to slam Obama, but why take the chance?

"Since Senator Obama has almost no experience, it's good that he's thinking about seeking plenty of advice."

It really is risky to say stuff like this.

15. He was asked the question
I can't imagine him saying no, I don't want Bill Clinton or Al Gore in my administration. But as I said above, I think any Democratic administration would make good use of Bill Clinton's or Al Gore's talents to the extent they are available.

16. It's as if reporters just try to set the candidates up...
Now they can go question Clinton and Gore, and possibly create a new story. Sigh...

18. I think any of the D candidates would be wise to include Bill and Gore positions.
They would both be great assets to any Democratic Presidency. Commendable and competent choices.

20. look at it from a different perspective
So a reporter asks Bill and Al if they would help in the Obama Administration assuming he wins. Both guys are statesmen and have lived through the past seven years of BS. Do you really think either one of them would say NO I'm not going to help! Clinton will obviously say he supports his wife and thinks she is most capable, but I find it highly unlikely that he will publicly shut the door.

They are Democrats, after all. No big deal.
