Two important numbers about Nader in 2000 |
|
Percentage of eligible voters who voted for Nader: 1.4% Percentage of eligible voters who didn't vote: 49%
Ralph Nader is not the problem here. We should be able to offset his votes easily. The problem is that the Democratic Leadership isn't interested in appealing to the people who don't vote.

3. is there any chance Nader will be the draw? |
|
Will his candidacy pull people in to vote who didn't last time (and who are fed up and want ABB this time)?

The real question is can we recover the turned off voters that Dean created. It will be a tough job,but I am optimistic. There is plenty of time. The toddler tatrum style did real damage to the party.

5. This is one Dean supporter who wouldn't vote for Nader if her life |
|
depended on it. WHY would I want to A) throw my vote away, and/or B) throw the election to bush? WHY would I want to do that? I've already decided, since the fates have forced my hand, that my Dean vote will go to Kerry or Edwards. I'm not left with any alternatives. Oh yeah, there IS one. Voting for bush. Utterly out of the question now and forever more.
