Dean Person who is ABB.
A lot of people are saying that many Dean people will stay home or vote 3rd party out of spite. I think that one of the things that drew people to Dean was the fact that they Virulently hated George W. Bush. Last summer I started to get really angry. The unemployment, the job fairs where there were only sales jobs available. I cannot tell you how repulsed I am by that profession. I remember reading an article about him. An anti-war candidate who talked about standing up to Bush. I had the pleasure of shaking hands with him at a rally, even writing letters to Democrats. I would have donated but I have been strapped for cash. I am disappointed about the media character assasination of Dean. I think that he would have been a great president in the Spirit of Teddy Roosevelt or Harry Truman. Dean was one of two people that inspired me to become a full-fledged Democrat.

Who you say was the other one? George W. Bush.

The point is, while the Democrats have their problems, I know that deep down they are the honorable of the two major parties. With obvious individual exceptions. But I think that Kerry and Edwards, beyond all of the DLC centrist stuff are good people who I hope after all of this will accomplish what needs to be accomplished. At least with some serious nudging from those of us who care about the soul of the party. Dean talked about forming his own grassroots, in the spirit of movon.org. I hope he does this. Beyond this. Let's get Bush out and try to get this country back on track.

2. I don't think most Dean people will stay home or go 3rd Party out of
spite. On the contrary, I believe the vast majority of Dean supporters are Democrats first who share the common goal of removing Bush from office in November.

I also think there is another dynamic at play on a message board and that causes more hard feelings for a vocal minority here in GD Primary who have indicated through their behavior that they will go 3rd Party out of spite. But even some of them have 8 months to cool off, and I don't think it represents the majority in the real world.

Welcome to the Kerry/Edwards club

3. Well...
...I may still caucus for Dean in the Colorado Caucus, but come November, I am firmly in your camp. I would hope that Dean would see to it that all his supporters were there too. I won't stay home (unless I have an absentee ballot). Get out the ABB.

4. Thanks....a most reasonable post.
There is most certainly an honorable place for Dean and his supporters at the Democratic table.

6. Another ABB here too
I agree and commend you. I too was a Dean supporter (even donating money to his campaign every month from my credit card which is something I've never done before). However, there's no question in my soul, being, and mind that the Democratic candidates now in the running couldn't possibly cause 1/100th the harm that * has. In fact, I too agree that they're basically good people who have average American's best interest at heart (for the most part - I'm not saying they're perfect and I would make some changes if I could - but I can't). It's time to deal in reality. Anyone who could possibly believe that this country would be in the situation we're in now if Gore was in office (as some Greens apparently believed when they voted for Nader), are on another planet (I PROMISE that I'm not looking nor have I EVER looked to be a flammer). I'm just stating what I believe to be an honest to God fact. God help us all as we embark upon the most important election cycle in our country's history. I can't remeber the stakes ever being this high regarding what we could loose if * is placed into power for another four years. Peace.

8. My friend, my husband, and I were the head of the Dean group in my town
and we were talking about this yesterday. We are ABB first. Dean knows this, hell, Dean is ABB even more than NBD. If he can see clearly, than I think that all of his supporters need to reconsider if they are thinking about voting 3rd party. A vote for Kerry/Edwards may be a vote for the status quo, but I sure as hell have been longing for the status quo of Clinton's administration. The status quo does not make me have nightmares about scary 1984 versions of America. The status quo does not make me want to move to Canada. The status quo is better than anything another four years of * will guarentee.

Dean knows what is at stake in this election, I thank our lucky stars for Dean and am glad to know that he will not be going anywhere. So I am fine voting for Kerry/Edwards, though I would prefer Edwards. I just like him more. At one point I was so infuriated at Kerry I vowed not to campaign for him, but I was just being emotional, ABB is the objective here. Once we have a Democrat in office, I personally plan on campaigning for Dean in 2008. Change takes time, and things can not even begin to change until * is out of office.
