Joe Biden Issues Statement on Peru Free Trade Agreement
December 4, 2007 -- Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Joseph R. Biden, Jr. (D-DE) issued the following statement today:

"I cannot support the Peru Free Trade Agreement because the Bush Administration has not proven that it will effectively enforce labor and environmental provisions, however good they may be. Our economy is slowing down, and Americans don't trust this administration to protect their jobs, or the safety of our imports.

"Americans understand that this Administration does not have a plan to win in the new international economy. This is not the time to endorse its approach to trade deals."

1. Biden is right on this one. Giving Biden credit where credit is due.
I'm not even going to turn "credit where credit is due" into a joke about what an evil shill for the credit card company Biden is.

Oops.

Anyway, good for Biden on this one.

Harry Reid has got to go.

someone mentioned Biden should take his place - If Biden didn't win the nom (I am still hoping), I think he

8. What is the deal with Reid?
We have four senators running for the Democratic nomination. Does he want the next president to be a Democrat? Or is he just incompetent?

9. Good for him -- We've got to make a clean break
International trade is good.

The brand of neo-liberal, corporatist colonialist "free trade" that has been pushed since the Bush 1 administration is bad.
