An amusing bit of hypocrisy re: Dr. Dean and his supporters |
|
I've chuckled to myself and even laughed out loud when I've seen threads here 'appealing' to Dr. Dean to 'denounce thus and so' or calling on him to join in in supporting 'Proposition B', e.g. . My question when I see those threads is 'Why should he, after the way he was trashed by some of the very people now issuing the calls?".
You really DO reap what you sow, in real life, and the Democratic Party should be down on its collective knees thanking God that Howard Dean has shown himself to be a better Democrat than 99% of the 'Democrats' who attacked him without mercy for months.
My $.02.

I 'got it' about Dr. Dean and his movement early on, and have never had anything but respect and admiration for him. :)

my impression is that a lot of anti-Dean democrats let the media form their opinions of him instead of the other way around.

|
up here directed at Dean supporters. After my initial anger and disgust at the vultures who were so sorry to see Dean drop out, but now that he has, could you please join our campaign, it is rather amusing to see the Dean bashers now groveling to get our support for their candidate, and now they insist, absolutely insist that Dean put out a statement denouncing Nader.
Dr. Dean has already said he will back the nominee. He is out of the race, much to the delight of the Dean bashers. So why is his condemnation of Nader so important now?
Pathetic.

The ONLY groups of supporters who have been consistently positive toward Gov. Dean, for the greatest part, have been the Kucinich and Edwards people. I've had to hold my tongue on several occasions and refrain from telling certain posters to shove it where the sun doesn't shine!

9. I'm so glad I am an independent minded Dem |
|
I think Dean had a lot of independent minded folks onboard. Nader has thrown the DLC/DNC into another panic. I think we should work with ralph to get shrub impeached, and maybe if everyone just listened to Ralph, beyond the no difference comment, he does have things to say. I hope Dean won't denounce or endorse anyone. Support the nominee is fine.

and do what he thinks is best for the party regardless of how they treated him in the past. Although he certainly has the right to laugh in their faces and tell them to go to hell, I think Dean really does want to do whatever he possibly can to defeat Bush this November. If that means giving Nader the tongue-lashing he deserves, Dean will do it.
Come to think of it, he's the perfect person for the job, and if he has an impact, the party will owe him even more than it already does (for the spine transplant he performed on the candidates still remaining in the race).

12. Doesn't Dean represent the 'Democratic' wing of the Party? |
|
I'm not sure why Dean would want to leave Bush in office for four more years. Clark didn't take his loss out on the rest of us, and I hope Dean doesn't either.

17. He doesn't. Dean's ABB. |

However, his supporters don't feel the same way as he does- and it's precisely because Dean's the Democratic wing of the Democratic Party.

In so many ways that have explained on this board over and over again. The coming Bush-hole victory will be a breeze with the Annointed one put up as a "challenger".

I'm not saying Dean needs to come out and support Kerry at this time -- he's made it quite clear that he's staying on the ballots and encouraging people to vote for him to earn delegates to take to the convention -- and there's nothing wrong with that.
I'm simply pointing out that wanting people, that you don't like, to support your candidate, is not hypocrisy.

28. It strikes me as funny that the "Edwards" supporters |
|
here are so accomadating to the Dean people. Politics pure and simple. I wonder how accomadating they would be if Edwards were in the lead. Clark was hammered here just as bad if not worse than Dean. Bottom line is ABB which is what both Clark and Dean got into the race for. And as for the Edwards campaign asking for the debates with Kerry, why not debate with Kucinich also the pont spread between Kucinich and Edwards is closer, much closer than with Kerry and Edwards? But just like the press jurt Dean and Clark the press is "pressing" for the 2man race that Edwards wants. It is ALL manipulated.

29. As one who is a Howard Dean Democrat supporting Edwards... |
|
... it is because the Edwards and Kucinich campaaigns treated us more decently than did any other campaign. Additionally, as regards issues, Edwards is closest to Dean. The alliance would be far more natural than that cobbled-together affair with Clark and Kerry ever could be...

33. Vote for Dean March 2nd! It's about the Delegates! |
|
Those calling on us to support their candidate, seem to believe that Dean is out of the race, HE'S HAS NOT WITHDRAWN! They don't understand that the more delegates he receives, the more power we have to still help to change America! Keep posting reminding people to vote their conscious not the polls! We need to keep who ever the nominee is honest....General Election is the time to vote with one voice! Always enjoy reading your posts!
