Nader is a Republican---time to admit it |
|
Ralph Nader is a Republican in all but name. His ruse that he is "Independent" (or Green when it suits him) is all for show. He never stops criticizing Democrats, he meets with the policy makers and deal makers of the Replicant party (Norquist, et alia anyone).
his pose as the great advocate of the "common man" is based on old consumer advocacy and his distain for the real-life problems of most of us is nil. Nader can't be bothered to build up any experience in the trenches of local or state politics. Like Chimp, he wants to go straight to the top.
A man who expects privilege, who cares only for his own selfish interests? That's Ralph Nader. That's a Republican.

I guess you don't what he did for the people for decades. You're turning a blind eye of the decades of contributions he did for the people. Just Sad.

5. Are you saying that good people don't go bad? |
|
You are naive if you believe that. He's been corrupted by power and money. There's nothing unusual about that, it's happened to countless people. But let's not deny that it happened. Let's not pretend that he is still the crusading consumer advocate. He advocates for no one but himself. He is the worst kind of Republican, because he was once on the side of good, and chose to leave, for purely selfish egotism.

7. Christ, he ain't Mother Teresa |
|
Give me a damn break. He's a washed up Johnny-One-Note. Yeah, I know Ralph, I not only once worked for NM PIRG when I was in college we were required to fund our state PIRG. What a scam that was---100K a year went out in fees and the "services" were manned by volunteers. Most of what state PIRGs did was on the backs of the idealists who thought they were following a "St."
You make him sound as if he was in some slum dishing out dinner. He didn't get all that money denying himself. He's an egoist, he's a millionaire who doesn't want his investment income taxed at a reasonalbe rate and a man who fights unionization so his employees are dependent (those he pays at any rate)
Continue your romance with him---at least you'll never be alone, Ralph loves himself more than anyone else ever ccould.

12. I don't have anything against Ralph Nader but did you hear |
|
the dodge he gave this morning on MTP when whore-extraordinaire Russert mentioned that he was worth $3 million and asked him if he would release his income tax returns? Ralph didn't answer the question at all and used some lame excuse that a candidate might have a "retarded" child or something like that as a reason not to release their income tax returns.
On another note: Was anybody else as surprised as I was that Ralph got in some great digs against * (lying, impeachment, being a corporation) and Russert didn't ask any follow-up questions at all or cluck-cluck his tongue at him and say "that's a very serious charge, Mr. Nader." I was thinking if that was a Dem, Timmy-boy would have let him/her have it with both barrels.

9. That was then. This is now. |

A lot of people do good deeds to gain trust. Then when they have gained trust they put a shieve in the back. Something like bush did. Nobody in Texas expected him to be the fascist, lying con artist that he is.

your right typical Repuke. I've got mine screw you, and all the repukes spin misters have to do is to say "the Dems want to take away from you hard workers and give to those who are lazy and expect soemthing for nothing" I hate the Repuke party and all the selfish attitudes that they spew, so much fear and hate and greed.

Only a real man would go through the rigors of the primaries - not circumvent them.
Bush and Nader - cut from the same cloth!
Such sissies!

6. Attention Clark supporters! |

Read the above post. Realize that the description given of Nader could also apply to the General... Nader can't be bothered to build up any experience in the trenches of local or state politics. Like Chimp, he wants to go straight to the top.
Do you think this is a fair assessment? As a Dean supporter, I don't think it's a fair characterization of either.
I have a problem with what Nader did in 2000. And though many of the issues he raised in his interview this morning were exactly correct, I don't plan on voting for him this year either, unless some dramatic change takes place in this country that might allow him to win. But let's get real. The man isn't remotely a Republican.

10. The HELL it applies to Clark |
|
That is ridiculous. Clark has done the equivalent of local political (and national and international) work. His command required him to administrate, negotiate and to formulate policy for tens of thousands on an average day and decide life or death topics.
Nice try to divide those of us who worked and donated to Clark. Nader is a lazy man who slides by on a 40 year old accomplishment and what OTHERS have made of it since in the PIRG chapters around the country. He wasn't the first consumer advocate and he wasn't even the best or the most consistent.
But, I was in NH in November of 2000. I watched his cold blooded activities and heard the man myself. His goal was his own notoriety and his own selfish gratification.
Clark is literally a gentleman, a scholar and a generous man. Nader is a greedy self-absorbed Republican
