The official Nader dirt thread
OK, we all know how bad Bush has been. Nader is also a threat to the democratic party... What's the dirt on Nader? I heard something about Union Busting, that he's met with Grover Norquist, he supported the impeachment and removal of Bill Clinton from office. What else is there?

21. Here's the site that exposes Nader for the liar that he is
http://www.realchange.org/nader.htm

Nader destroyed my nephew's life. Thanks, Ralph, for putting a bullet in his spinal cord and leaving hin a quadraplegic!

12. Actually, Nader is on the other side of the Messiah in the ME situation
Nader is (dare I say the "A" word?) Lebanese or something... which might explain his relationship with Phil Donahue and Phil's wife (Marlo Thomas). Marlo is Lebanese. Her dad was Danny Thomas.

This was just one of the 2000 election issues that never was discussed. I' not sure that Ralph (or Joe Lieberman) could ever be considered an honest broker for peace in the ME.

Just my opinion and recollection. Please correct me if my facts are wrong.

5. His MAIN crime is that he tells the awful truth about Democrats.
Edited on Sun Feb-22-04 06:07 PM by RichM
For example, he told more truth this morning on MTP than 97% of Democrats have told on national TV in the last 3 years combined.

He said:
-Bush stole the election of 2000.
-Bush should be impeached.
-Bush led the nation to war based on lies.
-The war was based (in large measure) on oil.
-There is SOME difference between Democrats and Republicans: namely, "Dems are a D+ party; Republicans are D-."
-Bush is a "corporation masquerading as a human being."
-Washington DC is occupied territory.

That's telling it pretty straight. Of the Dems, ONLY DK talks anything like that, and even he never said all of it on nationwide TV in a single rapid-fire presentation.

Anyone want to hold their breath waiting for, say, Kerry to talk like that?

6. If forced, Nader would vote for Bush...
When asked if someone put a gun to his head and told him to vote for either Gore or Bush, which he would choose, Nader answered without hesitation: "Bush."

11. He also said.......
"If you want the parties to diverge from one another, have Bush win."

He was right....the Democratic Party is now a lot stronger and united and distinct now than it was in 2000; the rank and file Democrats I mean, not the Democratic leaders.

18. Possibly but the cost of that
distinction has been extremely high, so high that it is most likely already to late to anything about global warmning etc. What good is it all going to amount if the planet is destroyed in the meantime.

17. I really like this section from your link:
Did you know that Ralph Nader has a financial interest in Dick Cheney's success and has financial ties to Enron, one of George W. Bush's major campaign contributors? While Nader attacks corporations such as Halliburton, Raytheon, Boeing, Ford, Phillip-Morris, Pfizer, MacDonalds, and Occidental as being harmful to mankind, he makes investment profits off of all of these and more. What's the point, you ask? If corporate contributions corrupt candidates, can't corporate investments corrupt candidates? And if Mr. Nader questions Mr. Gore's populist rhetoric and his mother's oil holdings, shouldn't he also question his own?

http://www.realchange.org/nader.htm

The REAL Ralph Nader, aka PINO (Progressive In Name Only):

Ralph's image is built on the idea that he is somehow pure, not motivated by power, fame or money like those nasty politicians. But he is in fact just another Washington lawyer and lifelong Beltway pol who has built a powerful organization, lobbies Congress, raises millions through direct mail and $1,000 a plate dinners, gets paid tens of thousands by interest groups for his speeches, manipulates the press and overworks a lot of earnest young staffers.

(snip)

The Nader myth is built in large part of stories of his personal asceticism -- such as taking a minuscule salary, not owning a car (he bums lots of rides), and living (through the 1970s at least) in a boarding house with a bathroom down the hall. He claims to live on $5,000 a year and give nearly all the rest to his organizations.
Back in 1996, we noted that Nader had long earned hundreds of thousands of dollars per year in speaking fees -- over $250,000 annually even in the mid-1970s -- played the stock market and carefully avoided making details of his finances public, even as he demanded that various corporations and other politicans reveal their money dealings.

He has steadfastly refused to make his tax returns public (as Dole and Clinton have done). In 1996 he even says he spent less than $5,000 on his campaign so that he wasn't required to file even the minimal financial disclosure forms every other candidate is filing.

This time he had to admit spend more than $5,000, and his financial disclosure -- while sketchy -- revealed that he is a multimillionaire who makes hundreds of thousands on speeches each year and owns over $1 million in Cisco stock alone. (Nader still refused to release his tax returns, though all other major candidates have done so for the last many years.)

Ralph Nader is an egotistical, bullshitting FRAUD!
