What would have been worse? |
|
SCOTUS stopping the recount and the way things turned out to be now with Bush/Cheney in power ... or SCOTUS allowing the recount ... the FLSC authorizing a Democratic set of electors and the FL Legislature authorizing a Republican set of electors ... The Republican House installing Bush as President and the Democratic Senate installing Lieberman as VP?

2. It was until Jan 20 ... Gore was still VP |
|
The Senate was 50-50 and Gore was the tiebreaker.

3. it was 50-50 before bush took office |
|
Gore would have broken the tie as VP.
And as I understand it, the senate could have also elected Gore as VP and not Lieberman.

4. Lieberman as VP, no doubt |
|
If Lieberman was VP, we would be incredibly screwed. Wouldn't we have to run him for president? And Lieberman would get destroyed by Bush.

6. Gives me palpatations just to think about it. There'd be riots. |

There were a couple guys where I worked ready to come to blows over that. The mood was so tense during the recount.
Whew! Having flashbacks!
